Great Drone with Excellent Photos and Videos
The DJI Mini 2 SE is a fantastic lightweight mini drone that has truly impressed me with its quality. The photos and videos it captures are excellent, providing clear and stunning visuals that exceed my expectations for a drone of this size and price range. The drone is easy to operate, making it perfect for both beginners and experienced users. The QHD video quality is top-notch, and the 31-minute flight time is more than sufficient for most of my needs. One of the standout features of this drone is their customer service. They are responsive, helpful, and go above and beyond to ensure a great user experience. It’s reassuring to know that support is readily available if needed. However, the range of this drone is a bit disappointing. While it advertises a maximum video transmission of 10km, I found that the real-world range is closer to 1 mile, and that’s on a good day. This limitation can be a bit frustrating, especially when trying to capture footage from a greater distance.Overall, the DJI Mini 2 SE is a great drone with excellent photo and video capabilities and outstanding customer service. If the range isn’t a major concern for you, it’s a solid choice for anyone looking to get into drone photography and videography.

For once, I got the right dji drone first time!
This drone is absolutely perfect in every way for a first time drone. Got a great deal on Amazon Thursday and added a 3rd party charger/battery combo for a great price as well. This will get you in the air quickly and may replace all your other r/c aircraft for a while! Recommend getting a prop guard kit ( they have them on amazon ) and you’ll be able to fly around hazards like trees and fences and not worry so much about breaking props. The 3 flying modes are super great for learning as you can go very slow and also just let go of the sticks and it will hover in place, even in moderate to higher winds. I’m recording at 1080p and get a great picture; save disk space too. Using an older Google Pixel 2 XL for display screen, and have also used an Ipad Mini which works GREAT with this combo, but you need to get a tablet adapter which I also got on amazon. This drone is HIGHLY recommended.

Great product for good price
DJI mini 4k is a great high quality drone, i have flown is 3 times now from 100% battery down to 15%, and each time i had a great experience with the flight and the he camera. I did not buy the combo pack (which I should have) but I got 1 drone 1 battery 1 controller 3 cables for connecting to your phone with either mini USB, mini usb-c, or 8pin lightning (for iPhones). I also got 4 spare rotor blades, tho sadly not enough to replace all rotor blades, only enough to replace 2 pairs, but I also got plenty of spare screws and a screw driver that works a whole lot better than screw drivers from other drones I’ve bought. I was pleased that I could charge both the controller and the drone with a USB cable to my PC or to a 5v wall charger, and it took around 45 minutes for the controller and around 1 hr and 45 mins for the drone. All in all this is a great drone that I recommend to anyone wanting to get into the hobby, but I strongly advise getting the combo pack, as you get a charger with 3 battery slots, a carrying case, and 3 batteries which considering their individual price is worth it. 9/10

AWESOME first drone!
I had never owned or operated a drone before I bought the Mini 4k. I didn’t want a “toy drone”, but I didn’t want to spend a fortune on something I might crash or not enjoy. This is the perfect compromise. SUPER easy to get in the air with absolutely no training or experience. Once you pair it with the DJI app (you’ll have to get it from their website if you have an Android phone like I do), everything is so easy. The videos and photos are AMAZING quality, so much so that you won’t believe they came from a sub-$300 drone. The range you can get without losing the signal is crazy, and it is SO much fun to fly! If you’re considering this drone, JUST BUY IT! I promise you won’t regret it!

Great buy
Over the years I have been in and out of drone flying. I had the Mavic pro a few years back, and it was basically triple the price of this and to be honest this drone does all the same things that the Mavic pro did. It goes the distance and the same height, it has basically the same video quality, and the same flight time for less than half the price. Don’t get me wrong. This drone doesn’t take the best video but it takes very decent pictures and video for what you’re getting. I’m comparing this to the Mavic pro from years ago just to be clear not to the current Mavic now. all in all I think this drone is great especially because you don’t have to register or be involved with any of that stuff.

great entry product
I have had a few drones before and found a deal on this one, so I decided to give it a try. The settings are fairly simple, and you can get it in the air in a few minutes. I was not able to test the 10k range that they claim this has but I will soon. There is no obstacle detection so if you see it coming to you, just duck. It will also easily run into a wall or tree with no shame. The default video resolution is 1080p but if you set it to 4k, expect some disconnections and jittery video while flying even within very short distance e.g. 50′. I do recommend this if you are just starting to play with drones but if you want a little more, may get the pro version.

Amazing Entry-level Drone
The media could not be loaded.
Absolutely loved everything about the Mini 4k. The entire process from unboxing to having it in the air was fast, simple, and intuitive. I have been too nervous to take a chance with a drone because I was always too afraid of something going wrong (which it did, see below), however, the Mini 4k put my fears to rest once I launched it for the first time. The camera quality is amazing, the simple controls make flying it a breeze, and return to home feature ensures a safe return on every flight. The only con to it is it lacks some features of the higher end models, mainly the follow me option (however, I knew that going into it, it would still be a nice option to have). The bad….on the second day of using it, while using the auto landing feature, the drone suddenly jerked to the side by about two feet causing it to clip a branch on a tree and one of the front arms snapped. I’m not sure if it was a gust of wind, or a glitch with the guidance, but my hands were off the controller so I can say for certain it was not operator error. It was absolutely crushing for me to already be out over $300 after only two days of use, but sometimes that’s the way things are. Once I have the funds available I will be 100% getting a new one.In closing, don’t let the low cost fool you, this is a feature packed, amazing drone that is perfect for any beginner. Just always remember that it’s still extremely fragile and always pay close attention to your surroundings.

Very easy to fly.
I watched the DJI videos a couple times and found this drone very easy to fly. The best part is that it is intelligent enough to be controllable right from the very beginning. It has plenty of sensors and safety precautions on it to keep you from crashing it right away or just loosing it. The “return home” works Very well. The videos and still shots are clear and high quality. I’m VERY, very pleased with this purchase.

Don’t Skimp
Before this, I had picked up a Holy Stone HS440 on sale over the holidays as a “beginner” drone to see if I wanted to spend more for a better product. Big mistake, honestly. At least my HS440 basically could not hover, so right off the bat you’re fighting with keeping it steady and not drifting. That’s the biggest issue there, no time to get used to what you’re doing because it’s just not steady. Not so with DJI. Recently I saw the Fly More Combo on a great discount, so decided to pick it up*. Overall, great choice. The drone is steady at liftoff so you can work on getting a feel for the controls and how to fly, and the range is massively improved so that you can even learn in your own backyard. With the Holy Stone, to avoid breaking the thing you’d pretty much need to go to an empty park to get started, and even then the range is only around 1000 feet so you wouldn’t be getting to see much.Setup for the Mini 2SE is easy and straightforward, and the app walks you through learning how to control it before letting you free to fly and make your own mistakes (which hey, you definitely will). It’s a whole ton of fun to fly with.*Speaking of the Fly More, in the end that’s not what I received. Amazon apparently set up their listing wrong, and when I tried to fix it they were just going to send me the same product again, the standard drone and controller only set, not the Fly More. Eventually they claimed if I returned what I ordered and ordered the Fly More, they’d somehow make the price difference right, but I opted to just purchase the pieces of the Fly More combo separately among refurbs and third party products. So far, so good.

Very easy to fly. Lots of performance amazing value.
My first drone, it didn’t break the bank. Very pleased with the performance. Took my 10 yo daughter for my first flight. She asked for the controls. I was a little hesitant, but gave her the controller. She flew it better than me on her first try and she loved it! I guess it is not surprising in today’s world for the kid to out perform the adult with these things.Update: I didn’t give it five stars, because I crashed it and they wanted $339 for repairs! I can buy a whole new kit and battery for only $269.

Perfect for Father’s Day
This is the most cost effective version of a DJI drone to get. The features are fantastic, the connectivity is great, and the instructions for use and setup are perfect for all ages of users.Getting it for a fathers or sibling creates a ton of fun for the family, as everyone can learn and experience something fun and new together. The fear and fun of starting it for the time, as well as landing it, all of which are in a tutorial to help the users understand how to fly, navigate, and land the drone. The biggest issue that I had with this product was the battery life. The heat combined with wind will drain the battery of the drone, be wary of the heat. It is also noteworthy to say that there is only one charging cable for the device.Aside from that, it looks great, it is lightweight, and if you can’t find your drone in the air, you’ll absolutely hear it. Great product and cost effective for a DJI!

Excellent drone and excellent price for a drone
Finally bought the cheapest dji drone and I went from a pinto to a cadillac! What a excellent drone. So so happy with it! The response of control is amazing and the drone holds its position well. The pictures are amazing too. I highly recommend this one! Been through 3 different brands and they hold nothing against this baby!

Enjoying the experience
This is my first drone. Note to Android users. The DJI Fly App is not in the Google Play Store. You will have to manually download/install the app via apk file from the DJI website. My level of trust goes down for apps that were removed from the Google Play Store and I would not install it on my main phone. I had to use a spare phone to fly this drone.

Great drone for all types!
I’ve had this drone for a few months now, and I have nothing but good things to say about it. This is the second drone I’ve owned, and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The controls are straightforward, and the drone’s stability makes it extremely easy to maneuver, even for an inexperienced flyer. Weighing 249 grams, it’s small and compact, and the picture quality is fantastic. There’s no need to go overboard with a top-of-the-line SD card; I fly mine frequently and take plenty of photos from various distances without any issues. However, I will mention that the battery life could be better. Typically, I get about 20 to 25 minutes per battery, so I would definitely recommend buying a package deal with extra batteries if you can.In short, whether you’re a first-time flyer or an experienced one, this drone is an excellent choice.

Amazing little piece of tech. I knew these were small but with all they can do it’s amazing just how small.Super easy to set up Dji account and get it into the air. Great app and first flight walkthrough.Perfect picture/video quality.I can’t compair this with any other drones since this is my first but I can say I am more than impressed even after watching many many youtube vids on their capabilities.

No frills flying experience
Having owned several DJI drones in the past, this little guy packs a punch for its small size and light weight. It is nimble and responsive in the air but does not have the smooth feel of the full size mavic. The whole drone is very plasticly and feels very fragile. I would consider buying a good case to protect it. The image quality make up for the cheap build by creating crisp 4k images that rival drones that cost 6 times as much

I am so glad that I saved my money to buy this DJI package! I looked at many other drones for almost a year, and then decided to go with this package, and I am so happy with this!It has great distance, great videos, great photos, easy to control for a first-time drone flyer such as myself. awesome features especially return to home. I would definitely recommend this to a friend or anyone for that matter!Thank you DJI for making such a great product!

Actually very amazing
I was very frustrated with the initial setup (apologies to amazon customer service 😬) …. only because the cord from the remote control to phone was no good and I was under the impression, after reading many negative reviews, that it had very strict compatibility issues, leaving my phone model out.DJI customer service helped with the troubleshoot to figure it out. Contact a CSR before you rampage as I did!But really… it’s a bad @$$ drone and worth every cent… besides the connection cord I guess ha

DJI mini drone
I love this drone. This is my first Drone and I’m glad I purchased it for my first drone. This drone blows me away with its picture quality and ease of use. Like it
When I order it, I thought I was ordering a Mini 4, but as another customer stated watch the listing. It is a Mini 4 K not mini-4. But other than that, it takes good videos and pictures and fly’s great coming from a new user of drones. The download is an older version and is a little tricky, the booklets that come with it don’t really help. but after you download the manual and other information it is pretty easy to use. Also help if you look at Utube videos.

Amazing!
I am new to the world of drones and completely amazing how easy it is. At takeoff it’s buzzing pretty good but get over 15 feet and you can hardly hear it. Read the instructions and watch the videos and you will be flying in no time. Simple to take off and auto landing is awesome. Don’t be alarmed over the price tag this bundle is worth every penny.

DJI mini 4k
Yaw is slower then roll. Coordinated turn is not what it meant for. I have lots of tree and bushes at my place, so just stop and go around them, laterally. Don’t fly like manned or RC heli. Not enough yaw to my liking. Bat is good as advertised. I used more bat in a windy day so 20 min is good to me. Very stabile on my 1st flight on that day. Oh, buy extra bats if you want to go longer, I did.

Great drone, great price point
This is not my first drone by any means. Many people state it as a beginner drone (and it could be viewed as such). The small form factor is awesome. It’s such a small package to carry with me for recreation footage/pictures. This drone flies great, no surprises. I purchased it on Amazon Prime day. For the price point and what this drone offers, A+. It fills a gap when I want to grab something quickly and easily.

Great beginner drone
I’m new to the drone game but have very much enjoyed this model. The range is decent with around 1 mile of usable range on flat terrain with poor line of sight. I would expect more in an elevated unobstructed line of sight. The family loves to “take a flight” around town in the evenings. Also, in sport mode it is pretty fast and can fly around 35mph on the top end. Do not regret this and may upgrade for a model with obstacle avoidance in the future. Without obstacle avoidance, I simply try to fly at least an altitude that’s a few feet higher than the highest trees in the area and haven’t had any trouble.

Amazing value and very beginner friendly
I’ve been flying drones since the DJI phantom 2. I’ve owned the phantom 2, 3 and 4 and I was surprised at how small the mini was when it arrived. The handling, speed, and ease of flying was very impressive. I highly recommend this as a beginner drone because I didn’t enjoy my first drone as much because I was always so scared of crashing something so expensive. At this price point I wouldn’t feel too bad

Does NOT support 48MP images
I feel a bit deceived but maybe I just fell for the gimmick. I read 4k video and ASSUMED of course that means it has 48MP camera as well. No, it does not. I need it for taking overhead videos from high up, so I need all the resolution I can get. I returned it and got the DJI MIni 3 (not pro). It supports 48MP.Otherwise it worked great.

Loving this thing!
Perfect for beginners. Can’t go wrong. So simple to use and the results are stunning! Highly recommended for just about anybody looking try out droning (if that’s a thing). Get the DJI Care coverage, and you can fly it into a frickin’ lake and they’ll replace it (for a nominal charge). Takes the fear out of learning to fly it, especially since it doesn’t have collision avoidance.

LOVE THE PRODUCT, GET THE DJI MINI 4K
I got the DJI mini 4k as a gift, and I LOVE it! At first I was planning on returning it because I was afraid that I might crash it, or a gust of wind might blow it away. But then I tried to fly it once and to see if I can handle it. Btw I don’t really have much drone piloting experience, but I do with RC planes. Hear me… this thing is sooo easy to fly that I think a toddler can fly it. Jokes aside this drone is just very simple and cool to use. It has GREAT camera quality for only being $300. Also about the wind, there was a big gust of wind that was about 20 mph hit the drone and it did nothing, since it has GPS it handled perfectly! Theres still a ton of features that I haven’t tried yet. ALL IN ALL GET THIS PRODUCT EVEN IF YOU HAVE NO DRONE EXPERIENCE. THIS IS DEFINITELY THE BEST BEGINNER DRONE EVER!!!

GREAT for Beginners.
As a “Destroyer of Drones” I have found a tougher Drones. It’s not indestructible but I have hit some low lying branches and it survived! It still flew perfectly. I have bought many Drones ( mainly the inexpensive ones but two for around $200) and a tree limb will cause a catastrophe but this one stood up to it and STILL flew beautifully.I’m flying rookie for now but this is a drone to last a long time because of the different settings like Sport mode. It’ll take me a while to get real good at it but this is a great one to learn on and grow with.

Some details you should know.
The first one I got, the 4k mini with 3 batteries came with a nice carrying case. Unfortunately, the wind took it and crashed it.The second one I got was the 4k mini with 1 battery. It did not come with a carrying case. Also note that the drone will come with a wire connecting the controller to an iPhone. If you’re an android user like me, you’ll have to use your own cord, USBC to USBC.Flies just fine. Easy to use.

In just a few hours, I had already mastered the drone. It’s important to take the courses and obtain the mandatory license. They aren’t difficult, and they aren’t expensive.

Lots of bang for the buck
As a Part 107 commercial pilot with experience with multiple DJI drones such as the Matrice 300 RTK, M30T, Mavic 3T enterprise, and Avata. This drone has blown me away with how simple, small, and feature packed it is for the price. I paid $239 on Prime Day and couldn’t be happier. I highly recommend it as a first drone. Get that DJI refresh which can cover any accidents you may have.

Way better than the Potensic Atom
I bought a Potensic Atom around 9 months ago. I wanted to learn to use a drone and did not want to spend alot of money on a drone until I learned the basics. The Potensic Atom is not a bad drone BUT then came the DJI mini 4k. For around 50 to 75 more than the Potensic atom (100 if you get 2 batteries for the DJI) I can say this BUY THIS DRONE DO NOT BUY THE POTENSIC. Now that I have owned both spend the extra LITTLE money and get the DJI. The features and build quality are so much better than the Potensic. The biggest issue I had with the Potensic was it would not even come close to the distance the company said it would fly.

Impressive range and video quality!
As a newcomer to the world of drones, I could not decide between Holy Stone HS900 and the DJI Mini 4K. So I decided to do what any reasonable adult does that has expendable income, I bought both…lol. Here’s a detailed comparison based on my experiences with both models.Holy Stone HS900Pros:Ease of Use: The HS900 is incredibly user-friendly, making it a great choice for beginners. The controls are intuitive, and it is easy to get it up and flying right out of the box.Photography: The drone takes good quality pictures, which is impressive for its price range. The camera captures clear and sharp images that are suitable for casual photography.Cons:Range: One major downside I noticed is that the HS900 does not live up to its advertised range. The actual operational range is considerably shorter, which can be disappointing if you’re looking to explore or cover larger areas.Video Transmission: While the photos are good, the video transmission quality doesn’t match up to higher-end models. There is noticeable lag and occasional signal loss, which can be frustrating during flights.DJI Mini 4KPros:Range: The Mini 4K excels in this department. Its range is significantly better than the HS900, allowing for extended flights and greater exploration without worrying about losing connection.Video Transmission: The video quality on the Mini 4K is outstanding. It provides a clear and stable feed, making it ideal for capturing high-quality footage and ensuring smooth operation during flights.Overall Value: Considering the features and performance, the DJI Mini 4K offers exceptional value for its price. It stands out as the clear winner in terms of both range and video quality.ConclusionFor someone new to drones like myself, both the Holy Stone HS900 and the DJI Mini 4K have their merits. The HS900 is a good starter drone, particularly for photography and ease of use. However, if you’re looking for a drone that offers better range, superior video transmission, and overall higher performance, the DJI Mini 4K is the clear winner.

Powerhouse drone for beginners at a reasonable price!
Just got my hands on the DJI Mini 2 SE drone, and let me tell you, it’s a game-changer! This little guy is small enough to fit in a small compartment of a backpack, but it’s got some serious skills up its sleeve. I have tried several other types of drones with limited success. This drone changed all that!First off, the camera quality is really good. I’m certainly no pro photographer, but the shots I’ve been getting are pretty impressive. The 12MP sensor captures every detail, and the 3-axis gimbal keeps things steady, even when the wind is acting up. Speaking of wind, I was very surprised at how stable the drone and the camera shots are event in windy conditions.Compared to other drones that I have used, this one is easy to set up, and easy to get in the air without a lot of steps. The DJI Fly app is easy to navigate and you don’t have to worry about a million setting to change to get in the air, or even while flying.Battery life is solid too. The battery says that it will last up to 31 minutes, which is better than most of the drones that I have seen. I actually get about 23-25 minutes on each charge, but I do tend to do a lot of maneuvering which limits battery time. The app has a nice feature where it will give you an estimated flight time remaining based on height and distance of the drone. I have successfully flown the drone several miles from my location and was able to still get crisp clear video. Now, it’s not all sunshine and rainbows. One thing I wish it had is obstacle avoidance sensors. I’ve had a couple of close calls with trees, and it would be nice to have that extra layer of protection, especially for us newbie pilots.Overall, though, I’m seriously impressed with the DJI Mini 2 SE. It’s perfect for anyone looking to up their aerial photography game without breaking the bank. With a few tweaks here and there, it could easily become the go-to drone for adventurers everywhere!

Very easy and safe to fly – complete beginner
The media could not be loaded.
First up – my drone flying experience was one failed flight on a cheap drone 3 years ago which put me off trying a more expensive one. Big mistake.Thankfully this DJI Mini 4K was on a Prime deal so I took a chance. 1 million percent happy I did. My passion is making videos of nature and local events. I use good quality equipment and wanted something that could enhance my videos but not look cheap. I watched some YouTube videos on the DJI Mini 2 (and 4K – basically the same drone) and took a chance.REVIEW:1. Ridiculously easy to fly. No crashes, no near misses and no chance it will fly away. All of which I had in the first day using the afore mentioned cheap drone. This DJI takes off and just hovers there – no moving, no drifting. You push up on the left stick and it goes up. You pull down on the left stick it comes down and lands. It’s that easy. First flight I even landed it on my hand because the grass was a bit long. (I have bought a landing mat)2. Safe – following on from easy to fly is safety. The built in return to home features mean this drone is next to impossible to lose. Yes, you could fly it into a tree or building, but because you see what the camera see and you have accurate height information would mean it’s your fault – not the drones. I have taken things slow and so far I have done some fairly long distance flights (400ft high and almost a mile away). If I lose sight of the drone, I use the map on the screen to line it up with me and fly it back. If I really get stuck I press the Return To Home and it flys itself back and lands.3. Video quality – beautiful. The image is incredibly stable (as you would expect from DJI), the picture quality is excellent and compliments my other equipment. This little drone is punching way above its weight. And again, because you have live video feedback in your hands getting reasonable composed shots in the first week is possible. See attached video. It’s a learning curve for sure, but using any new video camera is. The skill is not having the $ to but the equipment, but learning to use it properly. The cheap drone I tried 3 years ago was unusable video – shaky, soft, washed out colors. This DJI is fantastic in auto mode, and in manual mode you have some control over the recording settings. And because it is so stable in flight, you can concentrate on making sure the video you are recording is good – you are not worrying that the drone will crash.4. Value – I paid $239 on Prime deal day. What a steal. The build quality is excellent. The IOS App is easy to use. No issues connecting, no stability issues, not bugs found. Flight time is about 20 – 25 minutes, which is more than enough for what I need.5. Extras – Technically everything you need, apart from a Micro SD card, is in the basic package. You don’t need to buy anything else. But some nice to have extras, that I have now bought are : More batteries – I bought the 2 batteries and charger (renewed) pack for $88. I also bought a protection case $20, a landing mat $18, a screen shield to help with bright sunlight viewing $20. I am also using Freewell ND filters, so far I have bought 4 of them $60. But technically all of these are not needed. But my advise would be to get the flymore pack if you have the budget – it makes a saving – but for me on the Prime day deal it was not an option, only the basic kit was reduced.Summary: I love this little drone. It has given me the confidence to get out there and fly. Its easy to fly, the video is great and the value its excellent. I was scarred by a cheap drone experience. The motto “buy cheap, buy twice” has never been more true. I could not recommend this product any higher. If you are a complete beginner then this is the place to start.

Excellent entry-level drone with some advanced features
After trying one of the Holy Stone drones thinking I would save a few bucks since I only need a drone for one specific purpose, but being disappointed with the video quality of it, I returned it and bought the DJI Mini 4K. Let me tell you, this blew me out of the water. The remote comes pre-connected to the drone, and when you plug the remote into your phone, it automatically brings up the DJI Fly app and you’re instantly ready to fly. No calibration needed, no settings to change, just press the button and go.Video quality is amazing and on par with the $1000+ drones DJI makes. Zero jitters, movement is super smooth and the gimbal does a great job stabilizing the shots. The built-in “quickshots” are incredible and super easy to use. This was a big problem I had with the Holy Stone drone I tried, the preset flight paths didn’t work as expected. With the Mini 4k, you press one button, tap on the part of the image you want it focus on on the screen, and off it goes circling, spiraling, or whatever else you tell it to do around the object you selected. Only downside is it doesn’t seem to be able to do a continuous circle – once it does 360 degrees, it stops recording. There may be a fix for this but if so, I haven’t found it yet. But it’s really a minor inconvenience.I got about 25 minutes of flight time on a single fully charged battery, and I have an extra battery and charger on the way. I wish it included a case, but I bought one for $20 on Amazon so that solves that.I would recommend this drone to anyone who doesn’t need ultra-advanced features that you’d find on the $1000 drones.

Great First Drone Package
I concur that DJI makes great drones at many price points, and for many skill levels. Every one of the dozens of articles I read before purchase had DJI at the top of the recommended list. My only problem was deciding which drone to buy as a novice. I didn’t want to buy a >$1K package and have the drone fly off into the sunset, never to be seen again, on my first flight. So, I split the difference on risk vs. cost/performance. I bought a DJI, but not the newest model. The better, but still very similar, model 4 would have cost more than twice as much for a similar package as this model 2.I’m happy to report that this drone is a great choice for adult beginners. It does not have the collision avoidance or 4k camera of the newest model, but it is essentially the same for basic setup and flight control and its camera performance is adequate. It really is a very nice drone, and I’m very happy I bought the DJI. It is relatively easy to set up and very easy to learn to fly. I really like the Mini2 SE and I’m glad I bought it.One thing I didn’t know about drones before researching is that all drones above 250 grams must be registered with the FAA, and some drones must initialize a flight approval each time they are used. So, if you buy a drone that weighs over 250 grams, be sure you understand what you are buying. It’s one thing to have to pay $5 and register once online, it’s another to have to be within cellphone signal range to initialize flight. With the latter type you could be miles into a hike and not be able to use your drone at all due to no cell signal for flight authorization. The DJI Mini 2 SE is not either of those. Two things you will need, which are not included in this kit, are a charger plug adapter and a mini SD type memory card. It’s absolutely ridiculous that a $500 package, that includes everything else, does not include the plug adapter. DJI’s >$1K packages don’t either. You need an 18 Watt or greater plug, such as the newer Apple devices use. Yes, most of us already have one, but that’s not the point. DJI should just charge $5 more and include one in the kit! The memory card isn’t technically necessary but the images and video will be much higher quality if you use one. The DJI Mini 2 SE supports up to a 256 gigabyte card. A high quality name brand card is only ~$25 and a 128 gigabyte is half that. If DJI had included the SD card and charger plug, they would have only had to increase the price of this package by less than $20, and the customer would not have to scramble around trying to source missing pieces of the appropriate parameters. Another issue is the formatting of the SD card… It needs to be formatted in the drone itself but I never found any mention of this in DJI’s instructions. Query YouTube for a quick tutorial, it’s less than a 30 second process once someone walks you through the appropriate menus on the controller app.In summary, I have no real complaints just suggestions, this is a great drone made by the leader in this market segment. It’s high quality, easy to fly and many of the parts are interchangeable with prior and current models. Its basic flight capability is very comparable to the more expensive DJI models, but it is edged out by them on camera resolution and advanced features like object avoidance, but it costs significantly less. If price is not a concern, I’d recommend the Mini 4 unconditionally, it is better. However, the Mini 2 is also an excellent choice and I’m glad I chose it for my first drone. I may upgrade at some point in a few years, once I have a lot more experience, but I’m completely satisfied with this drone and would recommend it or buy it again in the same circumstances.

If you’re looking for your first drone. This is it.
I love this device. It has consumed my free hours with research and just watching drone videos. What started as an endeavor for roofs for work has now turned into a little bit of a hobby now. To preface, I bought a holy stone first since it was cheaper and came with a bunch of extra stuff, DO NOT GO FOR SOMETHING LIKE THAT. While the device was cool, it would randomly take off on me and the battery didn’t last near what they advertised it as. Spend the extra money because you get what you pay for. I returned it and bought the mini se 2 and with the extra batteries, bag, and charging dock, it was about $200 difference from the holy stone but again, you get what you pay for. Right out of the gate the device was smooth, easy to handle, and the app was much more user friendly and robust. I spent my first flight just digging into the app which had everything from no fly zones, to points of interest nearby to fly your drone to, to areas to be careful with due to weaker gps. Even with weak gps areas, this thing flew super smooth even in the wind. I know this is long, but I want to add my only gripe. For this being a beginner drone, I really wish it would have obstacle sensors, my second flight I flew it into a tree by accident and there was nothing I could do to get it out and I tried it all. I ended up paying an arborist $300 to retrieve it from the tree for me and that extra $300 could’ve easily gotten a better DJI model that would’ve had obstacle sensors on it which could’ve avoided that mishap all together. The irony is not lost on me…Speed is great and the difference in modes is great when you want to smoothly cruise for photos.I would not recommend this for a kid under 15 unless he genuinely has an interest in drone flight and is responsible because it would not take much to completely destroy something like this. That being said, this is definitely cheaper than their other models so this is the one to get for someone younger due to the cost being much less.Performance is beautiful as is the design of the drone.Range I would say so far I have flown it to the point to where I can’t see it anymore and it never lost latency or anything. I’ll be honest, the first time you fly it that high can freak you out but these things are built extremely well and it will not freak out out on you. Also, one of my favorite things is how compact it is. Carrying around that sling will inadvertently make you feel cool, like you’re about to unleash a little war beast.Anyway, review over. I hope this helps someone.

Why the DJI Mini 4K Drone is My New Favorite Gadget
I’ve been using the DJI Mini 4K drone for a few weeks now, and it has genuinely impressed me. From the moment I unboxed it, the sleek and compact design caught my eye. It’s incredibly lightweight, making it perfect for carrying around on my adventures. The setup process was straightforward, and I was up in the air in no time. The 4K camera quality is stunning, capturing crisp and vibrant footage that’s beyond my expectations. The stability of the drone, even in windy conditions, ensures smooth and professional-looking shots. The various intelligent flight modes, like QuickShots and Dronie, add a creative touch to my videos without much effort on my part.Battery life is also commendable. I get around 30 minutes of flight time, which is plenty for capturing extensive footage. The DJI Fly app is user-friendly and enhances the flying experience with its intuitive controls and live HD feed. Additionally, the GPS functionality and return-to-home feature provide peace of mind, especially for beginners like me.Overall, the DJI Mini 4K is a fantastic investment for anyone interested in aerial photography and videography. It combines high-quality performance with ease of use, making it suitable for both novices and seasoned drone enthusiasts. Highly recommended!

Great Budget Drone but Airspace Locking Needs to Go
This is an impressive little drone and great for beginners or intermediate drone operators. We have tried other drones in the $100 range and they are all seriously lacking in reception range, video quality, and other necessary features. Like its more expensive DJI siblings, this drone has excellent range, great video, and a decent set of features to get anyone started in this hobby. This drone is entry-level and so lacks many features found in its pricier siblings like the Mini 3 or the Mavic series, but the affordable price balances the value.Overall very impressed with the range and video reception. DJI’s proprietary wireless protocols gives this drone a premium feel at a budget price point. This drone is in a completely different class from most other drones below this price point. Recreational pilots in the US are limited by visual line of sight. This drone is a bit small so can be hard to pick out when farther away, but the reception has been perfect so far all the way out to our visual limit.Drone is very stable in wind. We tested in winds up to 20 mph and winds that were around 10 mph with higher gusts. Rock solid especially for a drone of this small size. It has no problems flying upwind in the winds we tested with. We have not tested cross wind flying yet to measure course drift.Requires a separate device for video. We tested this on Android and iOS. Works well with iPhone 13 and Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite. There is a clip in the controller for the phone/tablet. We found that it generally only worked for our iPhone 13. It can probably work for a device about 1″ larger than the iPhone. It did not work for the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite and we needed to purchase an after-market clip.Battery life is pretty consistent between 15 and 20 minutes even in wind. The battery is lithium poly and uses a proprietary case and connection. Charging seems only possible through the drone itself or using a separately purchases charger designed for DJI drones. Not a big fan of the drone locking out the user in controlled airspace. When this happens the drone will not allow itself to be flown. Additionally the unlocking process is buggy and requires workaround to unlock an airspace that was unlocked on a prior day. It is not illegal in the US to fly in most controlled airspace when following FAA regulations which are pretty straight-forward for recreational pilots. I am concerned what might happen when DJI eventually sunsets the unlocking service. Perhaps they will release a firmware upgrade to disable that service one day, but I wish that day was now.Four stars because of the locking issue. If the drone did not lock itself, this would be a five star review.

Nothing else even comes close at this price
Like many adding reviews here, I didn’t have any experience with drones before this one. I’ve flown some cheap RC helicopters indoors and nothing else. If you have ANY interest in learning how to use drones, this might one of the best introductory models you can find, save for one huge caveat, and the only feature I miss: there is no automatic obstacle avoidance on this one. This means you MUST be more careful in flying low or near any objects. It’s easy to hit a tree branch if you’re trying to maneuver in tight spots and are inexperienced. However, once up and beyond low-hanging man-made objects, I don’t even remember this feature is missing. Seriously once up over the landscape and hundreds of feet up, it’s just smooth sailing.I was afraid to let this out of visual sight at first. Even some youtubers suggested you shouldn’t fly out of sight because of the lack of OA. But then I decided to really test it, and found that I could fly out 1.5 miles from my house without any issue at all. Signal did break up once as I was faced the opposite direction, but restored in less than 3 seconds and the drone was fine. RTH has worked perfectly whenever I get a little lost. And even with real life wind, I very easily get about 25 minutes of usable flight time before I get nervous enough to bring it down, usually with about 10% battery life left. (IT WILL NOT FLY AS QUICKLY OR AS WELL AT LOW BATTERY, DO NOT ASSUME THAT LAST 10% WILL TAKE YOU AS FAR AS THE FIRST 10%).The intelligence built-in is incredible. It’s a far cry from pro models, but the RTH has worked without fail, and I love the security of knowing if my controller dies, my phone dies, or signal is suddenly blocked, it’s gonna make every effort to return home. Also, I just trust the sensors and bring it back home if it tells me it’s time. I only push the battery if I have to. LiPo batteries do better if you’re not deep charging them every cycle, so unless you have to, don’t push it way down below 15% and your batteries will last longer. I bought the fly-more package and truly recommend it if you can spring for the extra cost. That ensures I never need to abuse my batteries. There is nothing else in this price range that offers this many amazing features, and with the reliability of DJI behind it, it’ll have support for years. If you’ve wanted to check out this hobby, or if you’ve just been burned on cheaper drones but are still open to it, this is the drone for you. It’s not really great for indoor flight or getting real close to objects, but with some practice it’s far from impossible. The incredible range and fantastic camera put this in a category all it’s own.

After some tech issues I flew and love it.
Updated Review:I ended up calling customer support and the issues I was having were unscrewed. I finally flew the drone last weekend (Jul 13, 2024) and I loved it. The product itself that is. It truly met my expectations, flight handling wise and the camera quality is superb. It was windy and it held its place really nice on a hover. It didn’t heat up either. The controller is smooth and doesn’t jerk the drone with quick movements as it flies. Now keep in mind this is not a toy. It has safety features that will keep it grounded like if it detects you’re going to in a no-fly zone, i.e. close to an airport. I’m just getting started so I’m positive I’ll discover a few cool things here and there. I don’ make lot time for these things. I’m a sporadic user at best. I did take the FAA Recreational Flyer course. That helped me understand what I was dealing with especially the legal part. Plus I have a buddy who is a drone beast. He ran me through some basics. I’m going to give it 4 stars because the selling points are all not clear, especially it not being Android friendly. At least to me. If you but it and you have an android, you’ll notice it immediately trying to get the DJI App.Initial Review:I’ve had this drone for 3 days now and I still haven’t been able to get it off the ground. To me, its not Android friendly. Thats for starters. I have an iPhone as well, but I’m not going to fly it with that. Second, when I finally was able to get the app going, downloaded the firmware and set it up, its asking me for either a phone number or email to register it before I can get it to connect. Why? I’m not goi g to give it my phone. Email, is ok. However, I should just get the app on my phone, calibrate, get my camera setting right and start flying like other drones I’ve owned. Still, I’m willing to register it but I can’t get past the email and password. BTW, it mentions a “register” but it doesn’t have a path to it. I dislike having to contact any tech support. Thats a real pain. All these things should be unpack, plug and use. I’m about to repack it and send it back. That’ll depend if I get past dealing with tech support. Thats if it even sends me to the right one. I really want to see what this drone can do since there is so many good things have been written about it. But I need to get it into the air. It seems just getting though all initial nonsense its whats making me disappointed with this product. Another update to come.
