Game changing!
I am so impressed with these smart glasses! 👓 The fit and audio quality is amazing and I can still hear everything around me! I love that I can connect them to my Spotify account and listen to music while I do homework! I had no issues with setting them up in the Alexa app and the charger has been really easy to use.

Hands free Alexa – huge upgrade from Gen2
These are a huge upgrade from Gen 2: better style, lighter and balanced, and quicker Alexa response times. I like too that these don’t have the camera, compared to Meta Ray Bands, since it is a little uncomfortable to have a camera always facing other people right in their face.Strengths: I love the audio is still private, without plugging your ear and cutting you off from the rest of the world. The next best thing is being able to have Alexa controls all the time hands free, so when working around the house and hands are dirty, I can still get access to a person assistant. Cant wait for Alexa improvements with Generative AI!Weakness: I don’t normally wear glasses, so it is a little different to have to put on glasses. There are opportunities to improve when inside my home, which Alexa device reacts to my “hey Alexa”, so for me these will be mostly used when I am outside and on the go. The charging case is okay, love the wireless charging, but needs to be improved as it is not intuitive and as easy as we all would like it to be, similar to Apple wireless charging for phone, watch, airpods, etc.Overall: A big step up from prior gens, useful if you’re in the Amazon ecosystem (Marketplace, Alexa, FireTV, Smart home) and still has opportunity to improve in Gen 4 and when Alexa is improved with LLMs.

disappointment all I can say
I like how they are comfortable but the lag time with the connection to my phone is annoying. 2nd generation connect faster and has a better mic. The volume is better in the 3rd generation.

Best STEALTH glasses I have had
Very easy to use, ordered the glasses with plain lenses. Then took to my doctor to have my special lenses installed.Love the way I can wear them at work, and none of the management has said no music at work. You gotta get one if you work in an office, no one hears the music I am playing.

I would not buy again if I had a time machine
What I like? The style, the shape, and that it doesn’t slide down my face like the previous version. They are also light and easy to wear. Getting the RX put in them was pretty easy, I took it to Visionworks and they told me it would take 14 days and I got it back in 10 (during Christmas time). They also didn’t make me sign a waiver, the place I took it to when I got the lenses in on my 2022 version asked me to sign a waiver and told me they would not replace them. Visionworks said that if they got damaged they would replace them. What I dislike?Charging sucks! I’ve never charged at 100% because I set it up to be charged and it somehow doesn’t charge. The glasses must move in the charging dock because they die within 20 minutes. It takes a lot of maneuvering to get it to connect, then 20 minutes later I see the red light is on (which means error in charging). Last night I tried connecting it for 30 minutes, finally they charged and I kept checking every 5 minutes or so (while I was cooking dinner) then the light was green so I undocked them. I put them on this morning and my phone is showing that they are not charged. It’s so annoying. If I didn’t already have my RX in them I would return them. The previous version would tell you how charged they were “charged at 60%” but these don’t, even if you ask them.Another thing that sucks is that they got rid of the “swipe to answer” feature which was so helpful. Now I have to click a button and if someone has fine motor skills issues, that would be a problem.I really liked the previous versions’ way of turning the glasses off and these supposedly “turn off” when the arms are closed, but that’s not always true. I’ve had the glasses closed on the counter and I’ll hear the video I’m watching come from the glassesIn all, I don’t think they are worth the full price. Alexa controls my house, all my light switches so I wanted these to work…. but they are dead. I use my 1st version more than these which is a shame because I spent over 120 more on these (I got them on sale).

Forget Contacts, I want to wear my glasses all the time!
I know what you are thinking….$270 for frames? Why? I already have 3 Alexas at the house, I don’t need one on my face. Well, it turns out I needed one on my face and did not know it! When I saw the ad for the glasses I thought “who needs that?” but since it is Amazon I figured I would order and if I did not like it, I would just return it.Once I got it, it was really easy to set up, and since I wanted to make sure I wanted, I just used it with the clear lenses for a week to decide if it was worth keeping. It turns out, they are super confortable and you don’t have a problem using it for a long time (I use contacts most of the time and only use glasses when my eyes need a break, always felt glasses were unconfortable)Making calls, listening to music and talking to Alexa is super easy and I like that i no longer need to walk around with my air pods. I definately recomend these frames!

New Mom Must Have!
I absolutely love these sunglasses. I originally purchased the blue light lens glasses to wear for day to day use, but recently snagged these sunglasses as well and am so happy with them. As a new mom, they are perfect for stroller walks with my daughter and being on the go with her. The sound quality is fantastic and great for listening to music or taking calls. I also love being able to utilize Alexa when on the go and outside. I never want to wear earbuds or headphones when I’m with my daughter as I want to make sure I can hear her, but it’s always such a pain to try to take a call when we are walking and be able to push a stroller with one hand/keep moving. This gives me all the hand free capabilities I miss from wearing my Airpods. Also, these glasses are so cute. While I tend to use them for walking and being more on the move, they are adorable dressed up with a cute outfit for happy hour! Very impressed with these glasses and would highly recommend!

Nice glasses but charging design ruins the experience
The glasses itself are sleek and function great (although the buttons are on the small side). Sounds good and battery life is excellent once charged. Unfortunately, The charging is very frustrating to get alignment accurate enough to charge. Any tension from making adjustments to the temple tips or even thin nose pads makes it very difficult to align. Also, the only way to charge them is with the awkward base making driving or travel difficult.

this nurse is very happy with her purchase!
These frames are so stylish and high quality! I love that they are blue light blocking as I stare at a computer screen all day long. I was shocked by how good the audio quality is. I am a nurse and these smart glasses help me set reminders, take notes and make phone calls while I am working! My trick is to mute them to save the battery and they last my entire shift. Thank you for making a product that increases my productivity! I haven’t had any issues with charging them. The video on the website made learning how to use this product very simple. I feel like I got the hang of them quickly. Highly recommend !

Seamlessly integrates with my everyday routine.
I love everything about the Echo Frames 3! Wearing it gives me the flexibility to handle calls without being chained to my phone — very useful when I’m cooking dinner. Being able to listen to music discreetly is also amazing and something I was surprised by. I know I have only scratched the surface of its countless features, but it has already seamlessly enhanced my everyday routine.

Impressive sound quality, surprisingly well fitting.
The setup was seamless w/ iphone. Out of the box to syncing with my phone was probably only 5 minutes. Pretty impressed with how the sound is focused, where it’s crystal clear while wearing, but entirely unnoticable just an armlength distance away. I like it over my airpods, because it’s much easier to pay attention to the outside world and still get great audio at the same time. Now I’m not pulling my airpods out every 5 seconds saying “Huh?”Fit was absolutely perfect. Snug, not tight. Temples are only about a cm thick, but doesn’t affect the fit at all. It would have been nice if the temples laid flat when closed (like your traditional frames) but honestly can’t complain w/ the amount of hardware packed in such a small space. The price tag is high, but honestly not much more than how much I would normally spend on frames. Overall pretty satisfied.

Glasses are great but have a shorter battery than advertised
The glasses are great and I love the audio quality and design, however, the battery lasts much shorter than advertised. This by itself is fine, but while I am out of the house I need to be able to charge them. It would be a much better product if they offered an aftermarket charging case to allow people that are “on the go” to charge them throughout the day.

Poor Functionality, poor fit, bad charging method, constant issues
I bought these at the 2024 CES Amazon booth as they had a deal for show attendees. As it turns out, that was a bad decision. The glasses I bought were for prescription lenses and THANK GOODNESS I didn’t pay the couple of hundred bucks to have them fitted with my sunglass prescription. I decided to try them with clear lenses it came with … a smart move. There are just sooooo many problems with these glasses. Firstly, the fit is flat awful, and when you adjust the temples, the glasses won’t fit easily (or at all) into what must be the undisputedly world’s WORST charger … and there is -NO- substitute. Lose the junky rubber fake nose charger and the glasses are useless until you buy another one. NO other wireless charger works … I know, because I tried several. Constant, and I mean -CONSTANT- disconnections from the phone which is required for data. It’s not like I have cheap phone either as it’s the top-of-the-Samsung Ultra line. Can’t be used in a Tesla as the glasses cause unrelenting problems with everything that your phone does in the car. Changing BT phone settings or Alexa app? Nope, doesn’t help. … Have a smart watch? Yep, forget that too. Want some fun? Get in your Tesla with the glasses, phone and a smart watch … EVERYTHING won’t work. Try to use it in a house that has Alexa devices and surprise! It conflicts with them too as the devices don’t know which one to respond back to despite the glasses being a couple of inches from your mouth … unbelievably, it can’t differentiate between the sound coming from three inches away, and yards away for the house Alexa devices. Incredibly bad engineering. If these glasses were $19.95, I’d still return them as ANY of the above problems, for me at least, is an absolute “no go.” The unrelenting connection problems was the one item I never thought I’d have with them as the house Alexa’s work perfectly with BT. I loved the concept, that’s why I literally bought them “on the spot” while in the Amazon booth. Amazon … please pull these from sale so as not to sour the future market for smart glasses.

Functional and fashionable
I love the way these glasses look. They are very fashion forward! But I also love the tech. I’ve always struggled with ear buds falling out constantly, with these glasses, I don’t need to worry about that and the sound is great. Another safety feature I didn’t even realize until after I got them, is when I go for a run or a bike ride, I can listen to music, yet still hear what’s happening around me like cars. I also have the blue light version and use them everyday while on work calls. 5 stars!

Charging station is very finicky
I adore these glasses. They are everything I wanted. However, the speakers are loud enough to be heard by everyone around you and the charging station is a pain to use. The glasses don’t always connect to the charger correctly.

Not read for prescription users
I wore the second generation echo frames all day every day for over two years. Loved them. I was hoping these would be a decent upgrade. But so far they’ve been pretty terrible for a couple of reasons:1. The battery life is horrendous, especially compared to the previous echo frames. The battery is actually fine if you’re using them (hour plug long phone call or listening to music no problem – as long as it’s in the morning) However, hey routinely shut off from low battery around 4:30 in the afternoon, even if I haven’t used them for anything all day. On a typical day I use them for one or two phone calls, usually under 5 minutes total and they’re still shutting down/turning off before dinner.2. When they die, occasionally for no reason (not every time), the indicator light will blink red multiple times every 10 seconds. I can’t turn them off because they’re already off, they can’t connect to my phone because the battery is dead, and I can’t charge them because I need glasses to SEE. I’m left with no choice but have a super annoying blinking red light in my peripheral vision for hours. Just for this, these frames deserve zero stars and zero purchases. What does it even mean?? The battery is dead? Great! STAY DEAD AND LET ME SEE WITHOUT DISTRACTIONS! Nobody wants a blinking red light in their vision. Ever. For any duration. Why was this even programmed as an option?3. The options/customization for this software is worse than a first generation iPhone. These things have existed for years, yet all I can do is change which side the obnoxious indicator light blinks so. Suggestions: Let me turn off the indicator light (always!). Let me activate alexa (or my phone assistant), with whatever phrase or word I want. Let me turn off all notifications. And more battery options; there has got to be some way to put these things is a better standby mode or something so the battery lasts longer. Energy saver mode, or something.4. Some way to charge these things while wearing them. Yeah it’ll be funky looking to have a wire attached to your face. But I also like being able to see.So yeah, I’ve gone back to wearing my second generation frames because they’re better glasses is every way. And they don’t blink at me for no reason.

Overall a stylish, productivity enhancing, simple to use product
Loved the design, ease of set up and clarity of sound in the device. Very easy to use and makes a big difference to go hands free. Voice enabled Alexa makes it a great experience. For the next version, would add a camera, have the charger placement be more intuitive and add some health metrics – steps, uv exposure, walking speed, etc integrated.Overall a great product.

Amazing Packaging and easy set up for someone who dosen’t use Alexa often.
The Echo Frames are easy to set up which I was concerned about since I do not have any other Alexa products, but there were no problems at all. There was an easy connection when linking my Spotify account. This product has made my walks to class a lot more enjoyable and I am excited to see how much use I get out of them this summer (since I got the sunglasses). They have a very nice fit to them which I also was concerned about since I have a very small face. They are very discreet and I enjoyed showing this product to all my friends. I felt like a superhero from the future! The packaging was very clean and satisfying and it comes with a high-quality carrying case as well as a portable base charger that looks nice on my desk. Overall, great product.

Echo frames Gen 3
These frames are totally awesome. Simple to set up and simple to use. The sound quality exceeded expectations. I was concerned initially about how they would work and how they would fit. Not a single complaint! I’m going to get a pair for my wife. I unconditionally recommend the frames.

Stylish and functional
Bought the round blue glasses and they are SSOO comfortable. Set up was easy and operation is pretty straight forward. Sound is very clear and I really like that I now don’t get the fatigue of wearing earbuds. With music on low volumes, I also like that I can have a conversation with someone around me without having to pause my music. I may take them to an eye store to have the ear pieces adjusted (don’t want to try and do that myself and break them) so they fit a bit snugger around my ears.

Only worth it if you can’t wear headphones/earbuds
I figured I would wait for the 3rd gen to give these smart glasses a try. Unfortunately they really do not live up to their potential. I was desperately looking for an alternative to earbuds which some fall out of my ears (apple) and some give my ears infections (Samsungs). The echo frames are basically like earbuds. The only advantage these frames have over earbuds is they do not go in your ears. Everything else is a downside. The frame selection is limited. The wide frames are a bit tight on my temples. Getting prescription lenses was not too much of an issue but the Amazon recommended glasses store was a bit skitish at first. Poly carb anti glare lenses set me back another $200. Overall the fit is less than ideal but it is okay. For the performance, the glasses do not work as well as I was expecting. I am afraid to pair 2 items as the glasses have enough issues with keeping just 1 item connected. The audio is fairly low quality, no bass and a bit tinny. The mic does not like background noise (even driving road noise). People CAN hear your audio if they are sitting next to you but the sound quickly falls off. For productivity it is the same as any other echo device which is very basic, “what time is it?” “Turn off kitchen light” etc. Overall, If you are looking for “smart glasses” I would say hold of a few more generations and wait for improved productivity on all echo devices. Today my glasses stopped connecting for no reason. After 2 hours with Amazon customer service and 3 factory resets, they finally starting working again spontaneously. For these reasons I cannot recommend these glasses unless you are like me and cannot wear earbuds.

Better than headphones
Perfect solution to listen to music/podcasts or talk on the phone while also being aware of your surroundings. While I’m walking my dog or riding my bike, I like to listen to music but also be aware of traffic, people & other dogs around me. These smart glasses are the perfect solution. My optician installed progressive lenses so I can also use them while working on my computer or crafting. Setup was simple & I also find them way more comfortable than in-ear or over-ear headphones. Highly recommend these functional & stylish smart glasses.

I hate the charging stand
This is my second pair of Alexa frames. Loved my first pair so when my prescription changed I decided to upgrade to the new frames. The frames are really pretty and look and feel to be great quality which is what I expect. The charger has changed for the new frames and the glasses have to be in the stand just right for them to charge. I’ve had to adjust and readjust them everytime I charge them sometimes for a few minutes at a time. I hate this charging stand! It’s more of a hassle to travel with this charger and I haven’t found where I can purchase a second one for travel and to have in my office. I’ve had my glasses paired to my phone and I’ve been using them daily but today they will absolutelynot connect to my Bluetooth so I’m wearing my old pair. I haven’t been successful in contacting customer service, so I’m hoping this review will get their attention.I’ve always had nothing but positive things to say about all of my Alexa devices and Amazon’s customer service so this is very disappointing for me.Amazon Customer Service, please help me.Update… Amazon Customer Service reached out to me about my connection issue and they were able to eventually resolve it and to date, I have not had any other issues with connectivity. The charging stand is still awful – EPIC FAIL. No fix and no alternate replacement available. So disappointing!

Great but terrible charger
I love my echo frames 3 but the charger is terrible. I’m still within the return window so I will return. That said, if I can fix the charger I will keep these glasses. The sound is great and the charge of the frames lasts awhile (full day). Just the standing charger is ridiculous… hard to insert to charge and now it’s blinking red to white and not even charging. So bummed!

Bought 2 pairs of these and very happy
Because I have 2 pairs and it can dual connect to laptop – I can use it for work all day. I created a portable charging “case” with external battery that I can bring to work or travel.I have been using bluetooth prescription/progressive/transitions smart glasses ever since Oakleys 15 years ago and this is the best so far!Features that make this a winner are:1. Lightweight with back of the arms bendable to wrap around the ears, therefore I can use for sports.2. Having 2 pairs with dual bluetooth, I can use indefinitely for laptop and iPhone- the 2pairs+laptop+iPhone switch over seamlessly.3. With Alexa built in, I can speak softly to control Alexa at home, even when there is loud TV going on.4. I can control Alexa home devices hands-free from outside home e.g, opening doors while carrying groceries.5. Alexa is better than “Hey Siri” because Siri wants you to unlock your iPhone when it is inside your pocket. “Alexa” command does not activate the iPhone screen and will work OK when iPhone is in contact with your clothes. Total definition of hand-free!TIPS:-I changed the wake word for glasses to “Echo” – so I can play music directly on glasses when at home; “echo play music”.-To be quiet quickly and precisely- “echo set volume to 50%”. For max volume use 100%.-Turn off Block Personal Responses – so iPhone does not wake up when in pocket.

Glasses are fine but the supporting technology is horrible
I like the glasses themselves although i would prefer wire frames. The frames are lightweight easy to use and the adjustable ear nubs makes for a very comfortable fit. HOWEVER, the inability to order a battery charger is horrible, the design of the battery charger is such that when you bed the ear pieces so the glasses don’t fall off when you look down they won’t charge reliably. .Anyone who wears glasses and wore these for more than a day or two could have told them the problem with the charger, and how can you sell ANY rechargeable item and NOT provide access to order a back up charger?!Battery life for me lasts about 5 or 6 hours because i am on conference calls most of the mornings… this means a little after lunch I have an option change glasses for 2 hours or use these without the alexa application. I considered sending them back, but since i already put lenses in them the frames are worth less then the lenses, i will keep them for now but I will say that they need a LOT of work to make these a good product.

Love the frames – hate the charger
The frames are nice. Fit well, look great, but the charger is really tricky to get the frames to sit just right to charge. Most of the time I get the red flashing LED telling me it’s wrong. I’d rather have a Xi charger, magnetic connect, or even USB-C. It feels like an industrial desiger was more focused on the look of the charger than whether it actually worked. Had I known they were to be this much trouble, I wouldn’t have bought them.

Not what I expected
I was so excited to get these frames after all the hype. First the good. Alexa works flawlessly. The BADS. Cheap design feels like it would shatter on the first fall. Charging stand is horribly designed no charging status. Confusing and awkward charging position. Would have preferred a cable instead. No spare charging stand available to purchase so don’t lose it or brake it. Charging base has only 1 pathetic light white red or green. So forget about knowing how much time left til fully charged. Sound quality is horrible must be in a very quiet room to hear anything reliably. Volume is too low really have to focus to understand any pod cast or YouTube videos. Best place for this is home or a library sad. Button layout is confusing. Software settings is almost none existent. No equalizer so what you hear is what you get. Extremely thick frames I feel like a major nerd wearing these at work. Feels like to many comprises for such an expensive product. Should’ve gotten a ray ban instead.

Serves it purpose, Not made to be one size fits all
I love the sound quality of the glasses. I use them more for keeping track of my notifications. Glasses are big and slide down my face alot. I tried adjusting the sides but then it doesn’t like sitting on the charging base very well and is hard to charge.

Microphones not working, lens order irritation
UPDATE: DO NOT USE BOOMERANG LENSES!!! I placed the order for lenses with Boomerang as recommended by Amazon and they have not only failed to deliver the glasses, they are blaming UPS for losing the glasses when UPS says the package was never received! Boomerang offered to refund me (for lenses only, not for frames) and give me a discount on their sister site Liingo (which does not carry echo frames), but why would you order from the company that lost the glasses in the first place? I’m extremely disappointed in Boomerang’s mishandling of this situation (I called multiple times and they kept telling me they would update me but never did unless I called again) and disappointed in Amazon for recommending a company that is unable to deliver! Bottom line: If Boomerang is the only option for lenses, don’t buy these glasses!Received the item and was excited to try before sending off for lenses, which I had already paid for through Amazon’s advertised lenses partner-Boomerang Lenses. I setup the glasses per instructions and first pairing the speakers don’t work. Reset and repair and they start functioning. Then attempt to get Alexa to respond and nothing happens. After 4 more pairing attempts across android and iOS devices, a call to tech support, and a factory reset (both volume buttons for about 30 seconds) they still aren’t functional and have to be sent back. Audio quality was fairly good, but if the mic doesn’t work they’re missing their main party trick. Tech support was great, although the first call I had the CS Rep hung up on me and I had to call and get a different CS rep to connect me with tech support. Amazon is sending me a new pair. Boomerang lenses (Amazon’s advertised lensing partner) sent a box for my glasses, but the box was returned to Boomerang from the shipping partner the same day they shipped it saying it couldn’t be delivered (shipping info was correct, USPS did not give a reason it couldn’t be delivered). Instead of notifying me in any way (no call/text/email/note on the order page or account page) Boomerang ignores the issue and didn’t even try to send another box! I had to call and find out after waiting over a week to be told about the issue and that Boomerang would send another box via a different carrier only after I complained to the CS Rep! This whole process has been a headache and I am very displeased. Early adopters beware! May be best to let these issues get sorted before ordering your pair.

My only complaint is why didn’t I get it earlier!
I bought the latest Alexa Echo Frames, and they’re a whole new level of cool. I can’t believe I’m just getting them now – really, it’s a bit late. After many years, I finally bought a new piece of tech that surprised and delighted me.First off, the design is on point. I bought Round frames in Blue color after using the ‘Try it on’ feature on my phone. I wasn’t sure how they would look in person, but they actually looked exactly the same, and even better. I laughed after trying the glasses in-person when they arrived because I usually spend hours at the optician trying new glasses and am never happy – I right now have Gucci red glasses and they make me look older than I am. But here I am, trying something for a few seconds and really liking it, very trendy – that’s new for me.Another concern I had before buying was that they would be heavy and uncomfortable for me to wear for a long time. To my surprise, the slim temples and nice materials make them comfortable and stylish. But let’s talk about the smart side of it. Alexa on the go is a game-changer. I can make calls, listen to notifications, and even start a playlist without getting out my phone. And they’re water-resistant and scratch-resistant, so they can survive my normal rough and tough handling.Same as my glasses, I wear the Eco-Frames for the entire day, and the battery life is good all day. I have not faced any charging problems called out by a few other people. I actually like the charging stand as it lets me sit my Frames on it without worrying about entangled wires. It took me a second to figure out placement initially but now it works perfectly. I now take all my work Zoom calls through Eco-Frames, and that has been a game-changer because I don’t need to carry my Airpods anymore and can listen to music. The biggest plus for me is that I can’t lose Echo-Frames while walking, biking, or running – I’ve dropped three pairs of earphones so far, and they are expensive as we all know!Echo Frames have very clear sound, just like high-quality earphones, and switching to them means one less device for me to carry. And in case you lose your Echo Frames, then you can even ask, “Alexa, find my smart glasses,” and it will do the job!Overall, I see the Eco Frames as comparable to smartphones – once you start using them, there’s no turning back. I genuinely can’t believe I didn’t get them sooner!

Have you ever purchased an item that just leaves you over-the-top awestruck? This is one of those items. The impressive list of potential time saving features. The ability to customize with your own prescription lenses. The improvements in sound quality. The wider array of frame style options. All tremendous improvements over version 2. And the icing on the cake? The fact that all of the positive attributes are completely negated by the charging system. Remember that awestruck feeling? You will be permanently awestruck by the fact that the charging system made it out of the prototype phase. There is absolutely no way the charging dock should have been alpha tested, let alone beta tested, let alone released. But they look good. Remember all of the time saving features alluded to above? You’re going to need that time to get your glasses into the charging stand. But they look good. Twenty minutes. No joke. With poor vision because, well, you won’t have your glasses on. The six point font instructions won’t help because, well, you won’t have your glasses on. But they look good. Unfortunately you can’t tell they look good because, well, you won’t have your glasses on. An online guide suggests that you bend the frames slightly so they will fit better into the charging stand. Great! you have a choice between glasses that slide down your face, but can charge, or glasses that fit well, but will not charge. No, really, those are your choices. But they look good. Finally, after nearly snapping the frames in half, darn near popping the new lenses out, and covering each lens with fingerprints, the charging light turns the appropriate color. By that time you feel like you’ve won the lottery. Now you can sleep. Just don’t expect to quickly grab your glasses for a nightly trip to the bathroom. They are pretty well stuck in that charger, and you don’t want to spend 20 minutes putting them back in once you return from the loo. Fast forward to morning, and the battery is still at the same percentage of charge as the night before. But they look good. I predict that these frames will ultimately land at number one on Amazon’s most returned item list. That’s not hyperbole. No amount of improvements to the frames themselves will negate the charging experience. But they look good. I suggest that you not even consider buying version 3 until aftermarket chargers are available. And they inevitably will be. Don’t even think of having prescription lenses made for these frames. It will be money wasted. Future college marketing courses are going to center around this colossal failure of a product. Manufacturers are going to use this charger in their employee training videos as an example of how not to design something. Aftermarket companies are already planning IPOs due to the easy money to be made in offering a solution to a problem that never should have existed. People are eventually going to pass you on the street, recognize your glasses, and avoid asking for directions because, well, you’re one of those people that bought those frames and didn’t return them. And perhaps that is the ultimate benefit. People won’t expect much of you if you wear these glasses. As a popular comedian once said…”Here’s your sign”.I have added my needed solution. A simple velcro strap to hold them in place. What an embarrassment.

Look great, feel great
This is my first pair of smart glasses and I am impressed. They are both stylish and functional and are SO helpful with work calls etc. Blue light option is nice. Sound quality is great and fit doesn’t overwhelm my face. The charger was a bit challenging at first, but I think a video or additional graphics could help smooth this out. I think the stand is a better option to make sure the glasses don’t get damaged while charging but I understand that’s a personal preference.

They’ve Been Downgraded. Previous Versions Were Better
I use to love the Echo Frames, now I like them. I started with the prototype/1st generation. Then ordered the 2nd and 3rd. Hopefully the reliability last longer on the latest release. They pair well with my Alexa account via a bluetooth connection through my cell phone. This pairing makes it easy to use the 150+ connected devices in my smart home. I do have one HUGE complaint and that is Amazon doesn’t have a way to repair these frames. I damaged my first pair. The second pair just stopped suddenly working inexplicably. Amazon offered a “promotional credit” so that I could order the 3rd generation but BEWARE, the Black rectangular frames are too small for an average man’s head. Amazon has no way to facilitate an exchange on frames. So they’ll process a refund. However, I LOST the $100 promotional credit. I tried so hard to plea with Customer Service and it was escalated to a so-called Leader. But he was a bit sarcastic and unpleasant and refused to help me replace the small pair with a larger pair. I just wanted to be whole and use the promotional credit I used. But he absolutely refused. I continued to plea until he ended the call without being provoked. He was simply tired of saying no while I was hopeful I could compell him. So now I have to pay extra for the frames and Amazon customer services doesn’t seem to care. So they are good, but some run small and there is no process for exchanges or repairs. If you get a promotional credit as a refund, MAKE SURE you know you will not have to return that product because they will essentially fraud you and keep that credit. Very disappointed on the customer service aspect of Echo Frames. I had to add this to my review: They have better sound BUT they downgraded some features. The battery life is longer but it is much more annoying to charge. I am a Flight Attendant and on the road most of the month. Now I have to carry a magnetic stand and the previous wire doesn’t work with the new frames. Also, the travel case is of poor quality. They are not sturdy like the previous case. Unfortunately they took away the touch pad interface on the side of the frames. I can’t understand why this feature is removed! It was such a useful feature. I hate writing such a poor review for something that I like. But the truth is, I loved the first two generations more. They wen’t backwards on too many things.

A big step backwards
I feel that Amazon has taken a big step backwards with this version of their Echo Frames.I have owned each of the previous generations of Echo Frames. For whatever reason, Amazon decided to removed some handy features that the Gen one and two had. The few things that are better is the sound quality, the battery life and they are smaller. The first feature I will mention is the ability to silence notifications. You now have to open the app on your phone and turn off notifications instead of being able to just push a button like you could on the older versions of the Echo Frames. The next feature I will mention is how you shut the frames off, you now have to push 2 buttons at the same time and hold them for 10 seconds, and the way the buttons are placed, it is difficult to do with one hand. You can take the frames off and close the bows, and this also shuts them off, but they turn back on as soon as you open the bows. The First and Second Generations you only had to push one button to shut them off.The new charger stand is terrible, the Echo Frames have to be PRECISELY placed on the charge stand. If they are tipping even a little in one direction or another, they will not charge. The size of the charge stand is not travel friendly either. The older Echo Frames used a nice easy magnetic charge cable, very easy to attach and it was small for travel purposes. The Echo Frames Gen 3 will take over all your phone calls. For example, if you are in your car, and have your phone connected to your car, expecting your phone to answer over your car speakers, be ready for you Echo Frames to answer the call instead. Even if you have your car selected, the frames will take over the call. I have even found that they take over calls when I am wearing my AirPods. It is very annoying to constantly having to manually tell my phone where I want my calls going since the frames take over.Amazon has added a second button to the Echo Frames Gen 3. It is dedicated to playing playlists from Amazon music only. I do not listen to music a lot on my frames, so this feature is not one I will use, and you cannot change this feature. Not very convenient for people who do not need this feature.I have contacted Amazon about these concerns, and was told they will hopefully fix these with updates. We will see.

Pretty darn great
I have owned and used my razer anzu and Jlab frames for the past 2 years, loving the convenience of smart glasses. These echo frames have the audio quality I loved of the Anzus, with the battery life I loved from the jlabs.Fit: They are light, yet feel quality. The “Wide” frame one I got is a perfect fit for my fat head. Not to insult those of us with big heads, but this is a hard find. The Anzus in comparison were tight and heavy, and have adjustable ends to improve fit, which is very needed. Wish there was a nose grip, but most don’t have this either, and my after market works great. Won’t fit on charger if you add and silicone ends to keep on face. Tried an assortment, but the charger is a tight fit.Sound: Audio is clean with good base for this product type, however I have had some small Bluetooth issuses this past few weeks owning them. Several times they have lost stereo sync for a few seconds before correcting, and I have had one instance of it not connecting and needing turn them off and on again to fix. They can pair to more than one device, so I can sit at my computer and just start using them without needing to re-pair. And at 40% volume is easy to hear, but no one else can. Phone quality is great, good voice isolation.Alexa: I have echos in most every room, so I am used to using Alexa. I started by changing my wake word, so I knew which device was listening, and it works pretty ok. Slower than my dots, likely due to Bluetooth connection. But I had to just mute it after a day or two of it constantly waking based on the audio it was producing. I never noticed any one saying echo in my YouTube videos, but it seemed to think so. Definitely the weak point for the device.Battery: battery life has been great, like all day use great. I listen to music at least 2 or more hours of my day plugging away at work, plus phone calls, YouTube, ECT. Then hours of use at home. I charge at the end with about 10-15% left. I would say about 15-20% battery is used per hour when in constant use. And the charging method is great, much better than a cable. What I would like to see: don’t call it power save mode to disable the wake word, just make it the option, own it. I want to change the voice like on all my other echo devices. Give more customization options for the button mapping, and allow the volume button to be remapped. It is usually more convenient to reach into my pocket to adjust volume than touch my face anyways. The separate volume control just causes inconvenience. battery use graph would be nice

One step forward, many steps back…
First off: I purchased the Echo Frames Gen 2 when they were first released. Most of the following is done in comparison to that version.= Multiple Device Support =======================One feature missing from Gen 2 (that these have) is support for dual devices. This is the ONE thing about Gen 3 that is preferred over Gen 2.= Audio ====================================The new frames do sound better, however there are some serious trade offs that come with this…First off, the speakers sound much quieter in a loud room.Auto volume control has been removed.Volume rocker no longer beeps, so changing volume without audio actively playing is a literal crap shoot. There are also a number of glitches that randomly occur:1. At random sound only comes out on 1 stem.2. At random sound will be out of sync (one stem will play the sound slightly ahead of the other, creating an echo like effect).= Silencing Notifications ========================The ability to mute notifications is completely removed. If you are going to be listening to music or an audio book, you’re getting notifications along with that. The only way to fully stop notifications is to turn the frames off. Unfortunately this is now a difficult process.Turning them off requires removal of the frames, then holding down 2 buttons at once for 10 seconds. For those less dexterous (like myself), this requires both hands. This process is highly problematic, sometimes dangerous, and in some cases literally even illegal:1. On the annoyance side of things, I was talking to a coworker when my wife started texting me. I had to mentally tune out the notifications since I couldn’t stop them.2. As for danger: A few weeks back on my way to work, my co-workers started a back and forth on the teams app, and I got an ongoing flood of notifications. I then opted to turn the glasses off, which requires removal of the glasses (I can legally drive without my glasses, for those who can’t this is literally already illegal). I then had to use both hands (hard to do while still operating a steering wheel) to hold down the 2 power off buttons for 10 seconds. In my case, really bad timing had the car next to me change lanes without looking while I was still holding both buttons. I did manage to swerve, but it easily could have been tragic.* Note that amazon support contacted me on posting about the near accident, but in the end said they would pass the information on for possible use in future products. The removal of mute function OR the time and complexity added in powering them off alone would have been manageable. The fact they did BOTH was a really, REALLY bad idea.= Form Factor ===============================The physical design is noticeably different than Gen 2, with caveats:1. Lenses, though close to Gen 2, cannot be transferred into these (so new lenses is a must).2. They are noticeably smaller than Gen 2. I have a big head so the stems squeeze my head, leaving visible dents on either side of my head once removed (Gen 2 fit me comfortably).3. I’m not happy with the end of the stem design. They barely make contact with my ears at all and are constantly sliding down my nose as a result.= Phone Calls ===============================These still work as bluetooth headsets for calls, with one downgrade which I REALLY don’t understand. These frames do NOT remember contact info!On my Gen 2 frames I frequently used eyes to call my wife. The very first use I did have to provide identifying information ONCE. From that point forward, it was a breeze:Me: “Alexa, call my wife”Alexa: “Ok” (then dials)No fuss, no muss, it worked.THIS version goes through the following routine EVERY SINGLE TIME:Me: “Alexa, call my wife”Alexa: “Did you mean wife?”Me: “Yes”Alexa: “What is your wife’s full name?”Me: “[wife’s name]”Alexa: “Do you know your wife’s full phone number?”Me: “Yes”Alexa: “What is the phone number”Me: “[wife’s phone number]” (then dials)THIS IS EVERY TIME WITHOUT FAIL!If I immediacy ask Alexa to call my wife again, it’s the ENTIRE routine all over again!!!This one makes me shake my head, how did this fail this far?= Charging =================================Gen 2 used a magnetic cable. This may not have been elegant, but it worked. I bought several cables, always having one close by to charge. And you could even charge while wearing them (which I did on occasion). The new frames use a large charging cradle, with drawbacks:1. The charge stand looks like it wants to be a piece of modern art.2. It’s too big to be portable.3. No way to wear them while charging them4. It also fails to charge far too often… I’ve gone to get my frames on multiple occasions only to see a red light on the stand indicating they didn’t charge overnight… One occasion I had to remove and re-place them on the charge stand a good 10 to 15 times until the light stayed on without turning red.= Dual Pairing ===============================As mentioned above, this is the one new feature I like, but it too has an annoyance…If I turn my ipad off, I get a notification beep, a verbal indication it lost connection (keeping in mind they’re still connected to my phone so still functional), and a blue blinking light on the side of the frames that continues indefinitely until I either power the ipad back on, or power cycle the frames.= Action Buttons =============================Gen 2 had one action button, and a tap & swipe support on the stem, and it worked fairly well (and also managed to support both muting notifications, and single button power off). The dual button design on these, having 2 button next to each-other on the stem has lead me on more than one occasion to push the wrong action button (the difference between answering a call or rejecting it).= Final Thoughts =============================I get the feeling the design team on these really didn’t do much testing. So many things are worse than the previous generation. The question as to why I’m wearing them: Frames and lenses put me over $500 in the hole. It was also time for me to get new lenses, so I can see better with these. My hope for the future is Gen 4 goes back to the Gen 2 frames with added multi-device support.

Excellent item for the Experienced hands free user.
I have been using smart glasses for some time. from the Skull view bone conducting glasses to other generic frames.keep in mind as a Dyslexic I depend on notifications and the ability to use speech to text any time its available over typing.Frames.very giving and flexible. hard to tighten. but better than others I have used.Audio. the volume control is great and they are loud enough. However there is still some challenges with volumes returning to previous levels after an alert sometimes.Connectivity.Direct connection is quick and the glasses are intuitive…until they are not. once in a while I will lose connection and I have to put them in the dock to reconnect. this does not happen often but when it does it means I can not connect again until I can get them to the dock.Dock.And that brings me to the Dock. its awful, not intuitive, with many miss loads and it is large and clunky.no travel dock is offered nor any other option. If you are a power user this is a great set of frames. and i highly recommend them. but they are not a 10/10

ADHD RESCUE!
First, I received a discount on my frames but I spent over $300 to add my prescription, so these were NOT free or even “cheap”. :)Now, to the review part. Can I say ADHD RESCUE again? OMGoodness!!! I feel like I might need a whole collection of Echo Frames. One pair for sunglasses only. One pair for readers only. One pair for my progressive lens prescription.I have the fortunate (or unfortunate) blessing of having to sit through a LOT of really long meetings. A long meeting for me is anything more than 30 minutes where I am supposed to sit still, look engaged, ask questions, NOT check email or any other thing on my laptop or phone while I’m sitting in a room with the alleged expectation to remain fully engaged. For my peeps who can relate, this is doggone near impossible. It’s just hard, and it’s a rare occurence. The person speaking has to be freaking awesome and the content being presented is also freaking awesome.Since we all know how rare these stars “align”, Echo Frames to the rescue!Music helps me focus. Studying for many an exam in college and grad school was ALWAYS done with music. I can tune in and focus with the distraction.I’ve purchased many a discreet earbud to help me with this attempt to focus in long or even all-day meetings.I ride my roadbike with Shokz headphones. I swim with Zygo swim headphones. Now, I can attend meetings (long ones) with my Echo frames. I am sooooo excited to put these in action in an upcoming all day meeting. In addition to the music clarity and inability for people around me to hear the music, the microphone for phone calls is phenomenal! With the voice isolation option on my iphone + the strong microphone in the Echo frames, I can take a good phone call and both parties can hear very well without having a white stick hanging from my ear.My only callout right now is that the frames are not de facto “comfortable”. This really needs the expertise of an optician. I had my prescription installed by Sam’s Club, so the team there made sure that the fit is comfortable for me. But, the functionality of the glasses and what I didn’t know I needed (until now) is sooooo cool!If there was a way to be able to get the technology of the temples and temple tips by themselves to fit on really cool frames, that would be awesome. I have been wearing eyeglasses for a long time now and have a nice collection of cool frames. The cat eye frames are fine and a little big for my face, so I would definitely want to play around with some other designs. However, I am over the moon excited to share this review with you. Unfortunately, i have to keep the secert of my Echo Frames from my co-workers so they don’t know what I’m listening to during their long meetings . . . 🙂 🙂 🙂

So far it’s better than Gen 2 by quite a bit
I liked the Gen 2 but it felt bulky in the sides and the lense area. These glasses are much more slim and compact with some serious but subtle differences. Mind you I’ve only spent a total of maybe 30 mins with them before I had to go to work. Here are some things I noticed besides the bulk for people considering buying the glasses. To turn on the device all you have to do is unfold them, it’s just that simple! It paired quickly and easily I just opened my Alexa app and unfolded the glasses and the app requested to pair them sent me through setup The buttons aren’t clustered on just one side anymore unlike Gen 2. There are 2 buttons on the right side for power on and other interactions while the left side has volume control. The lights are no longer at the very top of the glasses above the right eye! They are tucked in the hinges of either side of the lenses. You can choose for it to flash in either the left or right hinge. I’m left eye dominate and went with it being in my right mostly because of habit from Gen 2 but also to not get distracted to much but this might change in the future.I did not see a touch feature but again I only spent less than 30 minutes with them so might not have gotten around to that yet.The battery stand is a little strange for me as I don’t really like having to set them at a certain angle to charge. when I got my glasses they were dead. No juice whatsoever so that’s why I waited so long. I set them down for 5 hrs as I slept and I don’t know if it’s because I had them at a wrong angle but it was only 43% charged when I was testing them. I imagine it’s somehow my fault but if not that’s worrying! I will say that it does indicate when they are detected, placed correctly (charging) and not charging which is indicated by white, orange and red. I just don’t know what color it was when I sat them down.Another problem I had was that all my settings for Gen 2 didn’t transfer over to Gen 3 so I’m back to calling it Alexa for now instead of Echo. I didn’t see a lot of the features I had with Gen 2 like the turn up side down to turn off, name preferences (Alexa and Echo) stuff like that. Hopefully it’s more me missing them than them not being there. Also the options for what to do with the button assignments were very limited from what I saw.Overall I like the improvements even the battery stand but I really hope they didn’t remove the old features I did like.Forgot to actually post my review but it was saved, so here is my review after having worked with it a bit longer. This device lacks a lot of features of the Gen 2, it has no touch pad, you can’t rename it’s response name to Echo (my name is very similar to Alexa so it’s like I’m calling my own name and asking questions 😕) basically it’s a simplified Gen 2 with the bare essentials with the addition of wireless charging (finicky) and better audio. Sure it’s slimer and you can turn em off and on by closing or opening them but that’s expected with a “upgraded” version

Overall winner in function; HORRIBLE charging station design.
I was a bit worried that the sound quality, especially for phone calls, would be a deal-breaker. Let just say, It’s definitely not. The sound for music and audio books is terrific. As good, if not better than my ear-buds, AND it leaves my ears free to pickup ambient sounds (like cars coming up behind me when I’m on my daily walk). I’m told by everyone I’ve talked to that when I use them in conjunction with my phone I sound just like I would if I was holding the phone to my ear. No ‘down the well’ speakerphone sound or ‘can you hear me NOW?’ break ups and faint voice quality. So..win-win. The only problem I have (with the frames) is that the square frames are way too big for my face. I should have gotten the rectangular or round ones. But that’s just aesthetics. Now for the BAD nws. The charging stand for these is the most ridiculous contraption that has ever been invented…or at least, has ever been my misfortune to be forced to use. It can sometimes take 5-10 MINUTES just to get them seated so that they are actually charging. If that red light is blinking at you, you might as well have left them on the desk. On VERY RARE occasions I can get them seated in a minute or two. Most of the time I am frustrated beyond beief before I can get them to start charging. And what am I going to do? Not charge them? These aren’t exactly disposable lenses, wear once and throw away when the battery runs out. I have no idea who came up with this asinine design rather than just having a base you can lay them on or a charging cable you can plug in. But whoever it was should be fired. I don’t appreciate spending this kind of money for something that is going to give me daily headaches just trying to put them away for the evening. Amazon, do something about this!

Better in Every way
I don’t understand the complaints about these glasses. These are better in everyway compared to the gen 2s. I purchased the black rectangle. They are slightly smaller than the gen 2 but I see that as a plus as now they fit in my safety glasses. The charging stand while a little bulky for travel was easy enough. I placed the glasses in them several times and was able to get them to start charging. I couldn’t find a way to misplace them to where they wouldn’t charge it go through a bunch of extra steps to get them to charge. I hope a third party comes out with something more portable to charge them.I love the switch to buttons. The touch pad was always finicky for me. It sometimes didn’t work and had inadvertent activations where it would call my mom on accident several times. The button solution to me is more secure and gives more option for control. The volume is loud. The gen 2 glasses I couldn’t hear on the factory floor. I can hear these just fine while I am out in the factory. The gen 3 can now have two phones connected which is great. I have a personal phone and a work phone. It is so helpful that both can be connected at the same time for texts, emails, and phone calls.I haven’t used them long enough to see if the battery life is actually better but I am hoping so.The only downside I have is Amazon. I bought these for $269. A week later they went on sale for $209. I contacted customer service to refund me the difference rather than ship them back wasting shipping, time, carbon emissions, and loss in profits and they said it is against company policy. How dumb. You rather me return a pair and have you go through all that work in the return process and then you would then have to sell as used instead of just sending me the $60? Make it make sense. Bezos got enough money. Cough it up. You lose a couple stars for this.

Not bad for my first pair of smart glasses
This is my first pair of smart glasses so I have nothing to compare them against. Coming from regular frames, these were much better than I expected. They are slightly better quality than Warby Parkers, but still worse than designer ones. I have a low bridge, so I usually can’t wear glasses without a nose piece, but the echo frames did not drop.Since I haven’t owned other echo frames, I have nothing to compare them to. When you open the frames, they automatically turn on and connect to your device. You can sync two bluetooth devices to these glasses and swapping between the two devices are very quick, similar to Apple Air Pods. This has been my favorite. Closing the frames will turn off the bluetooth connection. There’s a total of three buttons. The standard volume and then two action buttons that are customizable. They are by default Alexa and (Siri/Google Assistant). I don’t mind the single standard volume since I don’t want the audio so loud that it bleeds. On max volume, the audio will bleed and people can hear it.For the audio itself, it’s not the best. It reminds me of those old cheap airplane headphones. I don’t necessarily mind it for watching a quick youtube video. After using these some more it’s been growing on me.To charge your frames you place it into a dock and it’ll charge via wirelessly. I love that rather than fidgeting with a cable and getting it into the usb slot. The battery lasts around 6-12 hours so you can give it a charge at night before behind. You don’t need to push it into the slot, all you have to do is fold it and drop it on top.As for the case, they come with a collapsible case, but I don’t need it since these are prescription glasses are glued to my face.I ended up using boomerang lenses to get lenses. They weren’t the fastest (3 week turn around, due to holidays), but they were the cheapest option. Overall, I’m actually pretty content with these frames being my first smart frames. I’ll be using these as my daily drivers.

Good glasses. Horrible charger.
I’ve had all three generations of eco frames. I was very excited to see the different styles as I was looking for a little bit of a bigger size. The glasses fit me perfect they’re much louder and I do think they sound better. I know some stuff is missing like the touchpad but that wasn’t that big a deal because I didn’t like the touchpad to begin with. For what I use the glasses for the missing features aren’t really a big deal. What I’m very disappointed in it’s how these glasses charge. Before we had a nice magnetic charger that snapped into place and was easy to carry when traveling. Now we have this docking station where if you adjust the temple bits at all you can barely fit it in there to the point where it feels like you’re going to break it. And every night when I charge these glasses it takes me at least 15 to 20 tries to get that thing sitting in the dock correctly. It’s beyond infuriating and they really need to come up with a better system. There is no reason why they couldn’t come up with some kind of wireless charging pad that you place the glasses on and they just charge. Now when I have to travel I have to stick that horrific doc somewhere and risk it breaking or if I lose it right now I don’t think there is a way to replace it. They really dropped the ball on this charging aspect to the point where if I didn’t already order prescriptions I might have just returned the glasses and stick with my Gen 2 while I wait for the next generation. I hope someone comes up with an alternate way to charge these things because that doc is junk. It’s so bad I had to take two stars off just because of that charger. I can see missing it once or twice but to take a good 5 plus minutes trying to fit My glasses in that stupid thing then waiting for that light to blink to only turn red is just wrong.

I can’t figure out how to charge them. Probably will have to return them.
Just received the glasses today. Cool. I decided to charge them before the big learning curve. After many many tries, I finally got the orange charging lite. Yay! Don’t Touch! Came back a few hours later it was the red flashing lite and they hadn’t charged at all. I watched “helpful” videos on how to deal with the charger, to no avail.I was excited to send them in to have prescription lenses installed; now, after all this frustration I will be returning them to Amazon unless a miracle happens and I can get the charger to actually work.Edit: I finally got the charger to work last nite,..and had the green “fully charged” lite this morn,..so, I’m going to take a leap of faith and send them off to an online site (boomerang) to get the prescription lenses made. The fact that they finally charged gives me optimism that I can figure out how to replicate this success from here on. When I get the glasses back I will update on the charging aspect.Other than that, I did pair with my phone and the music and audible books sound really good. I think they used the same sound tech on my Meta Quest 3, as you don’t know where the sound comes from, but it sounds pretty darn awesome.

I really wanted to like these, but they aren’t what I would consider an upgrade.Multipoint Bluetooth is great, makes life easier if you use the frames with multiple devices and it works exactly like it should – your phone is the primary device it always connects to and it switches between the secondary devices while still announcing notifications and accepting Alexa commands. The new charging cradle is much easier to throw your frames on and to find in the middle of the night, but it’s still far from perfect and takes some effort to get them in the sweet spot so they charge. An extra 2 hours of battery life is welcome, but I didn’t test those claims.Unfortunately that’s where the improvements end. This is controversial but I think the speakers sound worse than the previous gen. They sound more tinny and hollow, and I tried two different pairs of 3rd gens. They replaced the touchpad with two buttons and you can only assign two custom functions to them. Before you basically had 3 with the touchpad, and it was more intuitive. They removed auto volume, which is very strange.Lenses from the previous frames will not fit in any of these styles. It would have been nice for them to at least have one style that matched the previous gen so we don’t have to spend hundreds of dollars on new prescription lenses.None of the previous charging cables work with the new frames and Amazon doesn’t currently sell extra charging docks. Packing a whole charging dock for traveling with takes up a lot more space than a simple cable, would have been nice to have a USB port of some kind for charging on the go.I decided instead to return these and pick up another pair of 2nd gen frames for cheap – I don’t find the 3rd gen upgrade compelling enough.

Good for a first pair, but not for Asian faces or those with small noses
***Update: I had to return. The nose bridge is too big for less prominent noses. It kept sliding off my face, even with nose pads and gave me a wicked headache several times due to poor weight dispersement.I don’t know what previous versions of Echo Glasses were like. I’m new to smart glasses and here is what I liked and didn’t like:Pros/Likes:1. I can take calls seamlessly and work on other tasks while still being aware of my environment.2. I can listen to music without bothering anyone and stay focused.3. The blue light blocking. Very effective.4. The folding case. When I’m not using it I can fold it and it takes no space in my bag.Cons/Dislikes:1. The bridge is huge. I have an Asian/Mixed face. I had to use nose pads. Regrettably, I had to return them because even with nose pads, the fit was too awkward and I ended up with extreme headaches after wearing this device just for a few minutes.2. Buttons. They feel clunky and difficult to manage. I agree with some other reviewers that having a tapping and swiping function would be ideal. I actually found myself doing this even though I knew it wouldn’t work. It just feels intuitive. For a first time smart glasses pair, I really enjoyed these, but it could definitely use some improvements. I would buy again if they are able to fix the nose bridge. Us Asian and mixed Asian faces do not have such a prominent nose bridge. When Amazon can provide a solution for all of us more subtle noses, then it will be great to try.

A BIG step forward and BIG 2 star step back
2 stars off for the terrible and frustrating charging situation.Cons: The charging station will frustrate you. It is bulky and not travel friendly. It can take a few tries to properly place the glasses to charge and even then you are extremely likely to wake up to glasses charged maybe 60% and a flashing red charger that indicates a problem happened and the glasses need to be repositioned. This can happen multiple times through the night. This will leave you wondering if you’re having a hardware issue or just bad design. For the price, the most ideal scenario would have been a charging case like the Meta’s or a pluggable secure charger directly in to the frames, a 3rd better option would even be the old 2nd gen’s magnetic charger ..which also wasn’t the most reliable.Pros: Better looking than the 2nd gen and more comfortable on my big face than the Meta’s, but the biggest pro has to be the battery life. I work 12 hour shifts and so far these lasted for about 11 hours of podcasts and youtube with about 45% volume. The new update offers a “low power mode” so hopefully that will push it past the 12 hour mark for me.Overall, the Meta is still better than the Echo frames. I’m hoping maybe a software update can help the charging situation or maybe they can release a reliable charging case or maybe even a wireless charging pad. Just something better that the current situation.

Fantastic product, lousy charger
Firstly, the glasses are amazing. My wife got me these for Christmas and had prescription lenses put in. For someone who flies a lot, they are fantastic. No more wearing ear buds to watch movies or listen to music on flights. It also keeps me notified during the day of texts and phone calls coming in, as well as texts and anything else I’ve selected. They are comfortable to wear and no one realizes I’m wearing techy glasses! Now for the bad part. I’m having the same experience as others. The charger is awful. It takes me about 10 minutes to get the damn thing on and the steady orange light rather than the flashing red light of doom. There needs to be a better option and I’d certainly buy an after market option if it worked first time. Other than that, highly recommended.

Battery life is WAY better than 2nd generation!
These things have become a part of my physical body. I sent them to Seek Optics for custom yellow lenses so that I can wear them day and night. I am a building contractor and wear them through the day. I am constantly doing math problems with them, which speeds up my work greatly. As I said in the title, these glasses have WAY better battery life than the 2nd generation Frames. At the end of the work day, my 2nd generation Frames would die on me at times. This is not the case with the new 3rd generation Frames. If I do not use them for phone calls or listening to music, the battery barely has any discharge to it at all, despite being connected to my phone all day. I consider these an essential tool on the job. Without them, my work would be slowed considerably. If you have doubts about the usefulness of Echo Frames, you can put those thoughts to bed. Once you get used to having the internet accessible with only a few words spoken and your hands left free, I am sure you will feel the same as I do. I am 45 years old, and as a kid I could never have imagined such an item. If you have these and are walking around with an unanswered question in your head, it is YOUR fault. It simply means you are too lazy to ask Alexa the question. The ease of use is also a huge improvement over the 2nd generation Frames. The dedicated buttons to answer, decline or hang up the phone is MUCH better than the touch pad on the 2nd generation Frames. I could never answer, decline or hang up right with the 2nd gen Frames. The buttons give you full, definitive control. If you have the 2nd gen Frames and are wondering if it is worth upgrading, think no more. It is VERY much worth the upgrade. The wireless charging is also much better. The old charging cables were fragile and had to be replaced often. With the wireless charging, there is no more having to constantly replace the cables. I love my glasses and will not give them up!

Battery is questionable (updated with better results)
Advertised as a huge step up from my Gen 1’s. The battery is presented as lasting for 14 hours on “moderate” usage, including 2-1/2″ hours of playback, 1 hour of talking and notifications/alexa interactions. Testing them out for the first time today I put them on at 8am at 100% battery and have used it for the following:30 minutes of media playback20 NotificationsThe battery is currently at 37% at 1:28 pm so I have no idea where that 14 hour number came from.Side note: Not as comfortable as my Gen 1’s either.Edit: back up to 4 stars. After a few charging cycles the battery seems to be performing much better and Amazon CS even reached out to offer a new pair. Still not as well fitting as my gen 1s even in the larger size but I get a lot of use out of them at work.

Virtual Try On Does Match Reality
These are huge! I bought the brown cateye glasses to use as my everyday glasses. The virtual try on made them look like they’d fit, but instead I look like a little kid playing dress up with grown-up glasses.I love the idea of not needing to use headphones for my Teams calls. Having the glasses connected to my phone and computer for easy transition throughout the day would be awesome. Assuming this feature works well, I might exchange them for the blue ones which claim to be a smaller fit.I need to get my prescription put in them. This has turned out to be a bigger challenge than I expected. I went to one of the chains listed directly on the posting for these classes, and they told me they can’t do them. The next chain wanted over $200 to put in prescription lenses. I know Amazon also lists an online glasses store that I can use to send in the glasses, but I was hoping to find something local.

Charging problematic
I owned gen 1 and loved them. There are positives to this new version, namely it’s easier to mute and they are smaller and lighter. The glaring negative is that they are vey difficult to charge. You are supposed to lay it on the charger and they will be detected and start charging. That happens about half the time. The other half, not so much. This morning I took them off the charger and they were at 2%. They were at 15% when I put them on it before bed. They did appear to be charging when I set them down. The other issue is that you can’t buy replacement chargers. As they barely work, I’d like to keep one at my desk for emergency charging, but not an option.

Echo Frames 3rd generation
Not fond of these glasses, don’t like the charging device. It would have been much easier to carry the charging cord & plug in your handbag than this new charger to sit the glasses on plus carry that, cord, and plug taking up too much space in your handbag. They should had just left the functioning buttons in the same position. This newer version is not as easy to operate. The frame lenses are smaller, not a good design. Hope when Amazon makes a newer version of these, they put more thought into the design to improve the functionality. I hope these don’t stop charging in 2 years like the 2nd generation did. However, Amazon is good at trying to resolve any problems their customers have with their purchases.

Useful but needs more accessibility
As a totally blind man, these glasses are super helpful. This is my first pair and it is the 3rd generation. I have it paired to my Apple Watch Ultra 2 and my iPhone 12pro. I had to uninstall the Alexa app and then reinstall it to make the multipoint pairing successful. Please make this product more accessible by making the charger easier and also add an audible beep or notification that the glasses are actually charging. I have to have my girlfriend put them in the charger for me and she says it is fiddle-y. Again, there is no way for me to know, except through her, that they are actually charging. Other than that, I love this product.

Epic Fail Amazon – How can they remove the best features of Echo Frames and Give us THIS
Wow… I hardly ever write reviews….I was very much looking forward to my new Echo frames as I had Gen 1 and Gen 2… was looking forward to better sound and other improvements…. WOW… What a disappointment!!! Amazon, cmon…. how can you take away the best features of past Echo Frames!?!PROS (to be fair):- OK I will say the SOUND IS BETTER… unfortunately the cons make it so I cannot keep these and enjoy the better sound- It would have been nice to pair to 2 devices instead of one like the old ones.CONS:If you had past echo frames you will be able to relate to many of these issues- You can no longer hold a button for 3 seconds to power off the frames. You need to hold 2 BUTTONS for 10 SECONDS. I need to power my framnes off in my car so it doesn’t interfere with the car bluetooth calls and it would be such a major hassle to do this every time. You can close the frames to power off too bt when you open them they power on so that doesn’t help.- They REMOVED the swipe and tap gestures on the frames to answer and reject calls!! WHY would they take this amazing feature away??! Now you need to tap a small buttin inside the frame to reject or take the call!! Horrible!! The swipe was so easy!!- They REMOVED Auto Volume!! It is not there. You set the volume and that’s all!- Your OLD CHARGING CABLES will not work. You now only can charge with this tough to use stand. So it has to be upright etc. No pluggng in easily in a car or on the go!!!- The rectangular ones ARE SMALLER. You will need new lenses and you’ll have a smaller field of view.- You get a CHEAP case with these.. not the nice one you used to get.I am sure there are other things I missed but I am so unhappy with these… I’ve been a supporter of Echo Frames since the Day 1 First Editions…. and WHY they would remove the best features of the glasses is beyond me.I am going to stick with my Gen 2’s and these are going right back!If you never had these frames before, the issues may not be as big of a deal to you…. but the Gen 2s are a better product… and I am keeping them and returning these. If it was ONE issue, fine but there is so much worse and missing here.

Battery Life
I give this product a lower rating because the battery last a VERY SHORT time. They say “More battery life to take charge of your day with 40% more continuous media playback and 80% more continuous talk time.” I find this to be untrue, So far the Gen 3 has lasted less than 8 hrs. with very little use, were as the Gen 2 frame was good up to 10-12 hrs.. As of right now I would not recommend them to anyone.

Worse than the second generation
This is part two of my review the original review is below.I’ve changed this review to a One-star review as No stars are not possible. I talked to customer service about replacing the existing frames with a new pair base based on the terrible battery life. you could charge them overnight Put them on at 8:00 AM give 3 commands to turn the lights and TV off and that is it. by 3:30 PM they are drained and shut down, No music, no tune-in, just shut down with zero use even when you turn the mic off which defeats the point of voice command. Now they will not hold a charge, the charger indicates it charging and within 30 seconds it turns green indicating it is full but in fact, it has not charged at all. so now they are just eyeglass frames that weigh more with zero benefit. I would return them but I had prescription lenses cut and used my insurance. I can’t tell my insurance company I need new lenses for regular frames because these terrible frames don’t work and now won’t charge. and Amazon is not going to refund the price to purchase new lenses for new frames. This would not be an issue but I am still waiting on the replacement frames that for some reason will not arrive until the end of March. The request for new frames was made weeks ago. So much for Prime 2-day shipping. If this is a manufacturing issue maybe tell your customers, recall them, and replace them. I did receive a call from Amazon in the middle of the day, during working hours, like you can walk away from work to have an hour-long call with Amazon (Why an hour? All customer service calls with Amazon last an hour because they don’t bother to read the notes from the previous rep assuming they even take notes) I requested a callback and never got one. One hell of a job and a hell of a product. still waiting on that call back.Part 1 of the reviewYou cannot change the wake word so if you own other devices say, a fire cube that the frames cannot control it hears the wake word at the closest device the one on your head making it impossible to control any other device unless you change the name of all your other devices. This is a downgrade. They say the battery life is 14 hours, But sitting in an office for 8 hours with notifications off, no speaker use, and no commands the power drains in 7 to 7.5 hours a downgrade from the 2nd generation. Refrain from buying Amazon is going downhill fast. They shuffle music you own or unless you say the exact 10-word title of an album they cannot find your content or Movies and they try to play content you own in a worse format like commercial interrupted providers, If you wanted commercials you would not have purchased the content.

Totally Fantastic as always
I have purchase every rendition of these glasses and sadly enough had to buy the next one. Just like buying an iPhone every year. I love these glasses and the 3rd edition is even better light way completely on my face I can have them all day and not really feel them at all. I just wish the charging was done slightly different but its definitely a learning curve. No matter the case if you are thinking of getting them please pick it up. I used them to answer my calls and from what I am told I come in completely clear and do not have to yell at anyone. I used them to listen to music and comes in clear and loud sometimes a little too loud. That’s the only thing I miss from the 2nd gen that they did not put in the 3rd gen when I had the music up I was the only one that can hear it but when I used the 3rd Gen everyone can hear it if I have it loud

Good product when you are able to charge the glasses
These glasses look good and perform well. The biggest problem is charging them. You get an esthetic nice looking charger with it but if you don’t place the glasses on it just right, it won’t charge. There are times when it takes me 20 minutes to get it to charge. Also, you should be able to buy additional chargers but I can’t find any.
