    A Unique Idea

You can easily find cheaper ones so why did I pay more for these – two things, one is the GE brand on them and the other is that tiny label on the back that says they are UL approved. A faulty nightlight is a very common cause of house fires. You can tell immediately that these are made well of quality materials, the light ring rotates smoothly all the way around, the lens is not just a frosted piece of plastic it actually focuses the light in a concentrated beam. As far as them being from GE don’t get too excited, these days those big respected brand names are mostly gone, in this particular instance the name is only used by a licensing agreement, the actual company that makes these is Jasco.PROS AND CONSIf it sounds like I am happy with these you are right but that doesn’t mean they are for everyone. Unless you live in a dorm or small one room apartment you probably have need for more than one kind of night light. As a generality there are three very different needs in my home. One is the bathroom where I want it to light up only the area that I use during the night, not the whole room. I don’t want it pointing in my eyes, but I want enough light to do what I’m in there for. These are perfect for that. They are just bright enough, maybe a two on a scale of five. The light is a soft white and focused only where you point the rotating ring. If you do it right you can’t even see the lens at all. It comes on at night and goes off at dawn. Now the other two areas I use night lights are quite different. One is the hallway to the bedrooms. There I want a device that very softly lights up the entire area with no area brighter than another, and my preference is a cool blue hue that is easy on the eyes. For that purpose I choose a light that has a large frosted screen that emits light in all directions equally. The third area is within the bedroom itself where my preference is a light that only comes on when it senses movement, otherwise stays dark. If I do want a light that is on all the time I want it to be completely indirect and very dim so it can’t shine in our eyes. So it’s not really a matter of pros and cons but what works best for you.HINTI have bought this product before, this time I had another idea in mind. Our TV is in a darkened corner with some interesting handmade artwork hanging on the walls behind it. I wanted a way to illuminate that artwork but only very softly so it didn’t affect our TV viewing. So what I did is to attach a power extension strip behind the TV and plug in two of these so I can rotate them and point them toward the artifacts on the wall. I can adjust them to any angle I want and the effect looks like it was done by an interior decorator.YES OR NOWhat’s the most you will save by buying the no name brand, maybe two or three bucks – choose these for quality and the UL label. That was my choice. I hope this helped you make yours.

    Amazing

These are great, bought twice and going to come back for more. At night I have harsh or overhead lighting. I like lamps but have decreased the amount of furniture in my living room so no place to put a table lamp and don’t want floor lamps due to clutter. These are perfect for ambient lighting. House never feels dark and the sensors work great. I need to get more for my second story.

    Very handy

Small and unobtrusive but enough light in a bathroom to see your way without turning on blinding lights in the middle of the night! Just what I was looking for.

    Low energy, bright light

Bought these to put around the house so they come on at night. They are not motion activated but the energy usage is pennies a day. Will look for motion activated ones but have to have LED for them to pay for themselves. I guess one fall prevention is also worth the money…

Have used these for 15 years

I originally bought several of these at Target about 15 years ago. What I loved about them was that they weren’t an eyesore and were compact. The light is adjustable by turning it to where you want the light to shine. In my master bathroom, it gives enough light for me to see everything if I get up without being glaring. If used in hallways, they spotlight on the floors. If used in the kitchen, they highlight the countertops. I like clearing a path if I was to get up in the middle of the night without the need for lamps to be on all night. Only recently have I noticed one light not shining as brightly so I went on the search for these to replace. Even at my age, I still like my nightlight!

    Awesome!

We have these plugged into every outlet (with the light pointed down) all through our house. They only lite up when it is dark, so they provide a lighted way for us. No need to turn any other lights on.

    Great light

I trust GE and had 2 of these before just wanted more. Kind of cool how you can rotate them to get the stripes of light or solid. And I live the sensor aspect so if you forget to leave a light on at least this will help and depending on your room it is enough illumination to avoid objects

    Cancer warning

I ordered these because of the great price for two. I don’t believe they have motion detection, but they do have light detection and turn on automatic when dark and turn off automatically in light, which makes them so easy to use. It is very bright for the size, and the perfect amount of light to light the hall way for kids. I didn’t see anything about a Cancer warning when ordering, but it came with one on the packaging. That was concerning. Keeping these in the hallway for my kids, but keeping out of the bedrooms bc of the warning.

    Works great

Brightness adjusts automatically based on ambient light, works quicker and smoother than others I’ve seen in the past. The amount of light it gives is perfect for night time. I like the ability to swivel the light to different angles.

    Great for basement steps

I needed a little more directional light on my basement steps. These are throwing just the right amount of light right down on the stairs. Much better than a standard night light with a bulb. And the dusk-to-dawn feature is a nice bonus. I am very pleased!

    These are great

Nothing fancy. Just plug them in. Then walk into the bathroom at night and you can see what you need to see. I found them just bright enough. I like the adjustability. I like the look. Not so weird modern. I think they’re great.

    Great for guests coming over

Helps light the way when in a strange house. Not too bright or dim. They come on at the right time of night. I have multiple that we use for hallways and dark area’s.

    LOVE these for travel

These lights are handy for travel — you never know how dark your hotel room will be and if you will be able to find your way around the room in the dark without stumbling into something. And sometimes I forget to put them back in my bag and leave them in the room. So I needed new ones. The fact that they turn is the best feature — this way you can direct the light any way you want.

    Lights up wall, not room.

Bought several packs to light up the basement and several bathrooms. They are NOT VERY BRIGHT! The old screw in light bulb type are 10 times brighter! These are great for marking a wall so you have a sense of direction until you get to a light switch. We put one on a half bath with no window in hopes that my 4 yr old grandson could go potty when he needs to because he can’t reach the switch. Not bright enough. I tried putting 2 in the same outlet but one always cancels out the other so only 1 will be on. Bummer because they cast a real nice light on the wall!

Bright little night lights that are not visually intrusive.

Great little lights that are perfect for lighting a dark hallway or key points in a room like a kitchen counter after dark. The sensors work perfectly and they are surprisingly bright. It’s also great that you can swivel the lights 360° to point them where you need illumination.

    classic nightlight function, focused directionally

These are much better than I expected:* Draws less than 1W (my power meter shows “0W”)* Warm color (I’d guess 3000K, much warmer than my first-gen LEDs which were florescent-hued* Comes on gradually (gets brighter as it gets darker)* Reasonably sensitive (turns off for room lights or daylight, doesn’t turn off for “light on in the next room”)* Directional (install them to shine up or down as needed, the clear plastic aims the light in that direction mostly)* Small / low-profile (no bumping by accident)* Nice lookingSome reviews comment they’re cool-colored (they’re not, they’re just not super-yellow). Others seem to be looking for “lights up whole room” which sounds like something not-a-nightlight. For that purpose, a low-wattage regular light with a shade, or on a dimmer, should do the trick. For classic nightlight function, providing light for dark-adjusted eyes, marking steps, illuminating a bathroom enough to use in the dark? These are the best nightlights I’ve seen so far. Recommended.

    Great amount of light

I purchased this for my kids, I love how you don’t need to remove it when it’s not needed. You can turn it down or up depending on how much light you want. Great design, would definitely recommend. I placed some down a dark walk way, and they are perfect for us.

Exactly the right amount of light

I bought these lights to go in a bathroom and a dark hallway. They offer the perfect amount of light at night so I can see where I am going without turning on a brighter light. They have a sensor on them and shut off automatically when you turn on a brighter light , or in daylight. They have turned out to be a very good value for the money.

    These are good!

I’ve put these all over our house. They are light sensing only. For safety and convenience, they work very well as you can direct the light….should be down mostly, and there is a significant amount of light. They can also light up a bathroom enough so you don’t need to turn on a light in the middle of the night to use the facilities.

    Could be brighter

I believe the lumen ratings are for the LED but only half or so of the light makes it through the lens. Other than that everything is good. Nice tint, nice even beam, good for lighting walk areas.

Great product and quality. Highly recommend. Been using for over 10-years. Love the soft incandescent light. Attractive too!

I’ve been buying theses night lights from GE for about 10-years now. The soft Amber glow (incandescent) is perfect for those middle of the night trips to anywhere in the house when you don’t want to get woken up or blinded by turning on a light. Just the right amount of “soft” light, but yet bright enough to light up any area of the home. So much better than that white light. Fine for your vehicle and seeing the reload but no need of it in the house.I have one in all my bathrooms for those middle of the night visits, and in my hallways and entry way for when I get home or visits to the kitchen in the middle of the night to show me the way. I even have two over my pet’s water and food bowls for a little soft light for when they snack or get a drink of water in the middle of the night.Because these have the light sensor, they automatically turn on in the dark, and turn off at sunrise. Just a soft touch if light in all the right places and this style us very nice in any home.

    Not a night light

This light comes on in low level room light. So it’s a mistake to call it a night light. If your have a shiny floor, pointing the light down will result in light being reflected off the floor. Not very directional 🙂

    Nice mini night light

I like these little lights. I have one in the bathroom since everytime my grandson walks down the hallway he was afraid because of the dark bathroom. Now with this little light shining, he walks right down the hall without being scared anymore. Good price and lime how it rotates to shine light in specific directs. Only wish it was a little brighter, but my bathroom is long and narrow so it mainly shines toward the door

    Perfect night lights

Puppy is scared of the dark so we put these all over the house so she can roam from room to room without being scared. Love that you can twist them to light whatever way and also the lights are bright enough to see but not bothersome at all, like a soft amber color. They automatically light when it’s dark and automatically shut off when there’s light. Love em.

    Ball Nightlight

Ball rotation so it can be pointed more toward the floor would be helpful (more degrees of rotation on the design of the light head — so more of the light shines on the floor, and not up into your eyes as you walk into the room at night

Brightness, quality for quantity, & lastingness

I’m giving this report after using this nightlight for about a month now.Pros:+ not a super bright light (may b different 4 u according to what is “bright” light 2 u as a night light)+ the color of light illuminated is more of a yellow light, but a lighter shade of yellow (I list this as a Pro b/c warm light helps is easier on my eyes & helps me sleep better vs. Night lights that illuminate a blue or white light, again everyone has different preferences)+ Auto off when it senses natural light or a brighter light source (so whenever I turn on my bedroom light, the night light turns off automatically; when I open the curtains & blinds in my room & the natural light is sensed by the sensor on top of the night light, it automatically turns off as well.)+ DOES NOT overheat (the cover of the bulb or even the whole unit (nightlight) even after long use. (I have kept this night light plugged 24/7, observing that it automatically turns off when I turn on my ceiling lights or let in natural light, & I touch it seeing if it overheats)Cons:- this is not really a con, but if u place this under another object, (ex. In an outlet under you personal desk), the sensor may not detect natural light or another brighter light source (ex. Bedroom light, ceiling light) & Not automatically turn off. So, if there are other objects above the sensor of the night light, it may not automatically turn off & continue to stay on. What I do is just unplug it.Overall, I’m satisfied w/ my purchase of this night light for the price I bought it at.Hope this helps. 🙂

    Perfect for My Needs

Does exactly what I was hoping. Provides low level soft lighting, plugs directly into an outlet so no batteries needed. I really like that you can rotate the direction of the light 360 degrees, so I can point it down at the floor or up at the ceiling depending on where it’s plugged in. It’s not bright enough to be seen with your eyes closed so it doesn’t bother our sleep, but is helpful when using the restroom at night. Honestly both me and my partner are wondering why we didn’t buy these sooner.

Great product. Directional light is so nice. Light tone is warm in color and great for nighttime as it isn’t harsh. Clean white color and design blends in with outlets and allows you to still utilize the other plug in. I’d buy them again.

These do exactly what I needed them to do, which is to direct light in a particular direction at night. They aren’t super bright, but they do put off ample light. The cover swivels with ease. They fit in an outlet without taking up more space than what’s needed for a single outlet.

    Reliability and Color Temperature

Nice bright white (seems like 400K), but a little too intense for night lights. Like the ability to rotate the direction of the light, while the sensor faces either up or down. They do not modulate their brightmess depending on the ambient light level. Did, however, buy more. . .
