Nice doorbell
this doorbell is very well built and larger than it looks on the website, a little heavy when holding it up on the palm of your hand. Setup is very simple, just a few steps after you downloaded the ring app from the App Store for Mac and android for all others. Once installed and signed to your wifi, the app features several features such as a doorbell, motion sensor, image and video capture, neighborhood watch and messaging. Videos can be saved locally or upload to the cloud with a paid subscription. The one annoying feature is that there are ads within the app, trying to convince you to subscribe and/or buy additional gadgets.

Better Than Expected
We were not sure if we wanted or needed a video doorbell but have found the Ring Doorbell to be worth the purchase. Easy to install but you really do need to have direct power source. Battery looses charge faster than expected in very cold weather. Direct connect power supply has helped. Good motion detection and works great for my spouse who has mobility issues to be able to know when someone is at the door or a package was delivered. So far we feel it well worth the money.

Good Doorbell Camera
It’s been working great. Sometimes it doesn’t alert if the person walks out to fast from the front door (like a delivery) but that might be because of my internet range. For the most part is been useful although I wish the battery life would last a bit longer

must need for any home!
recent safety issues have been happening at my apartment complex so I got this Venetian color doorbell for safety.photos n’ video are clear n’ crisp. some lagging when reviewing previous footage. one real issue I have is when you mount the thing on its Included wall bracket, it’s almost “flimsy” like anybody can just take it. I’ll look into a better bracket so it stays more secure n’ snug.overall I’d HIGHLY RECOMMEND this product.

Good camera, keeps a good eye on things!
I have been having issues with my neighbors overstepping their boundaries at our apartment complex, the last one where they were on my front steps. After that incident I immediately began looking at cameras both as a deterrent and for evidence if they were to do something like that again. I know many people with the ring doorbell, so I thought that would be a good optionThe doorbell was easy to install and setup, it has a bracket with 4 screws that the doorbell itself clips to and has 2 security screws to prevent theft. Before putting it in place it has to be charged, as long as you’re using battery. It took about 2 1/2 hours to charge from a quarter battery out of the box. It includes a charging cable and all mounting hardware out of the box. After running it for a week on default power settings I am down to 89% battery, so it’ll last a while, but it’ll have to be taken down for a few hours occasionally to be charged. My one wish was that the battery was removable so I could have 2 packs I could swap out, but it isn’t the end of the world.Video quality is pretty good on it, day time viewing is great. Night vision is a little dark to see, but it is on me due to where I had to mount it. I mounted it directly on the door, the only problem with that is it picks up the white trimming around the door more than anything in the dark. My solution was to put a small motion activated light under it, it allows me to see the footage alright if someone happens in the dark. Under better mounting circumstances it works well at nightThe ring app has a very nice interface, it is very user friendly and you can easily save clips if needed. The app will notify you of motion or people at the door, so you can see quickly what’s going on. It will also allow you to change settings on the camera to save power and such. In terms of connection issues, I haven’t had any that other users have reported. However the WiFi access point it’s connected to is only a few feet away through the wall so I really can’t speak about installations further away. It is worth noting that it only supports 2.4Ghz WiFi, I would check what your network supports first. There is a subscription, Ring Protect, for this and other ring cameras. It’s 3.99 for 1 camera, $10 a month for all cameras, or $20 for a “pro plan” with 24/7 monitoring. For 1 doorbell camera I am using the $3.99 one, however if I ever need more cameras I would definitely use the $10 one.It is also compatible with Alexa, I am able to use my echo speaker as a ringer for when someone pushes the bellOverall I am very happy with this doorbell camera I would definitely recommend it. I know a lot of people wouldn’t like the subscription part, but it makes sense since they’re storing your cameras footage. It’s less of a worry than a thief taking an sd card out of similar. Even just have the camera there has already acted as a deterrent, those neighbors have walked by but haven’t done anything near my porch since. The only people that have been up there are people that should be like the mail and such. With this I feel way more secure!

Better video quality, poor installation and mounting (Updated 6/6/2020)
I had the original Ring Doorbell for about a year and really enjoyed it. It was cheap but lower quality video resolution. It was fine for the time I had it. When the same thing with improved video was being released, I jumped on it. I received it today and got it installed. The video quality is night and day as shown in the photos and much better than the 1st generation. Good work ring. Unfortunately, the installation and mounting sucks compared to the 1st generation. Why they did this, I have no clue but here are the issues.1. The mounting plate on the first generation has connections for the wiring. This made it very easy to remove the device and charge, especially in the winter months where we live and the batteries lose charge. 2nd generation has a mounting plate and the wiring on the back of the unit, which was a pain especially when the existing wire is not very long. This will be a nightmare having to remove this and recharge compared to the 1st generation. I had no issues with the 1st generation. This is a failure for Ring in my opinion. I am debating about keeping my 1st generation instead of this now.2. The mounting of the device to the frame also sucks. The 1st literally had no gaps and was secure in my opinion. It had guides that made the doorbell align to the mount. The 2nd generation does not and there are gaps all the way around and loose. I mounted it no differently than before, in fact the holes for 1st and 2nd generation are identical which is a plus, but again I see this mounting as a failure for Ring.I literally just installed this, and outside of the perfect video, I can’t attest to motion and nightvision yet. I am disappointed in the execution of mounting the device. I have no idea why this changed this from the 1st generation but this was a bad move in my opinion. I still have no idea why these require a battery they never stay charged when connected to wiring, but I assume this unit will have the same issue for me as well come winter. They really need to rethink the whole battery idea and have a hardwired version and battery version or fix the way these thing function when power is applied. At this point I may deal with it and hope Ring fixes these mounting and wiring flaws. If this mounted the same way as the 1st generation, I would not be writing a review because I had no issues with the device other than the battery and that wasn’t enough for me to write a review. Excellent otherwise but seriously why did you change the way these mount?***Update 6/6/2020***So I decided to keep it primarily because I had already offered to sell my 1st generation to a neighbor, but I did end up having to make some changes. Ultimately I bought some spade terminals and soldered them to my doorbell wire with heat shrink tubing (Ring provided in older versions, but not this one for some reason). While it was easy for me, it won’t be for others. Overall I am still upset over this mounting as it is extremely poor execution when the previous version was perfect. I guess this is Rings way to get the price down to $99 by cutting corners. The doorbell it self seems quality but mounting just plain sucks. I have no other words for it. You can see my updated photos of what I did. There are two photos that show the camera quality difference. The low quality image is from a generation 1 ring and the better quality HD is from the generation 2 ring. Night vision appears to be decent and motion the jury is still out because of the People only filter. I am still trying to tweak it. I am still leaving only 3 stars because of the mounting issues and there is still a gap between the mounting plate and the doorbell. Maybe Ring will fix and send everyone a new mount, but that is wishful thinking.

Great thing to have if you’re a homeowner.
My neighbor bought theirs when a car was stolen out of their front yard. Unfortunately it was easy because apparently the left the car keys in the car, but still the fact that someone checked the car and actually drove off with it, it was a bit unsettling. Next thing that happens is my son gets jumped walking home from school. It was then that I decided it was finally time for me to get one of these cameras so I could see who is coming and going in front of my house – I live in a more populated area in Florida where you see all kinds of stuff. I bought this ring doorbell for the front and a camera for the back. I suggest getting a solar charger otherwise you’ll be out there removing the doorbell cam to charge it every few days. Be advised you will need to pay a monthly fee on any device you have connected IF you want the ability to save and share footage (you don’t need a subscription if you don’t want to do any of that and just use the cam/doorbell feature). I opted for the subscription, it is worth it to me for the small fee. So far the camera works great, I can see who is coming to my house, where my packages are and what the weather is like at home while I’m at work. I don’t have to charge it with the solar charger connected unless we have a long stretch – like over a week worth, of cloudy weather. My other neighbor across the street was inspired by my ring doorbell, as I was from my neighbor’s, that they too decided to buy one. Highly recommended.

Ring Doorbell: The 5-Star Guardian, Now with a Community Watchdog Twist
Elevating its status from a mere smart device to a community sentinel, the Ring Doorbell not only earns its 5 stars for unparalleled quality but also for fostering a neighborhood watch in the digital age. This isn’t just a product; it’s a pivotal player in the narrative of modern-day vigilance, where the line between technology and community stewardship blurs beautifully. The Ring’s crisp, clear video quality is like having the eyes of an eagle perched at your doorstep, overseeing your domain with unmatched clarity. The construction is robust, a silent testament to the adage that good things come in durable packages. It’s more than prepared to face the elements, ensuring that come rain or shine, your front porch is under the steadfast gaze of this digital guardian. But the plot thickens and becomes richer with the integration of the Neighbors app by Ring. This feature transforms your Ring Doorbell from a personal sentry to a communal herald, keeping you abreast of not just who’s at your door but what’s happening in your neighborhood. From tracking down lost pets with a heartwarming zeal to staying updated on local crime, the app weaves a tapestry of community engagement, turning each user into a thread that strengthens the fabric of neighborhood security.Admittedly, the shadow cast by the incremental rise in subscription fees, from the modest $3.99 to the slightly steeper $4.99, and hopefully that’s were it stays for a long time 💰✌️

Back to the Drawing Board, Amazon (UPDATED)
I’ve been using this Ring doorbell and camera system for a couple of years now – plenty of time to put the gear through its paces and form a conclusion. In short, this stuff is basically little more than toys. I’ll begin with some positive comments, however…The hardware of both the doorbell and the “R2D2” cameras is quite impressive. It’s solid, the fit and finish are excellent, and the materials used are excellent quality. The 1080 camera is sharp and clear – even in the dead of night, and the audio is as good as one could expect given that there isn’t anything capturing the sound except a tiny condenser mic. That said…The sensitivity sensor is highly erratic, regardless of what level it is set to. On a few occasions, the recorder won’t even trip should someone come up to the door, but thankfully, this is rare. Most of the problems are with the inconsistency of distance. For example, people walking along the sidewalk in front of my house are basically never detected (which is proper), but should a postal delivery vehicle or a garbage truck go by, then the system is triggered. Keep in mind that a sidewalk is normally closer to a house than a street, and my property is no exception. Even a stray headlight will trip the system, which is exasperating when it happens in the middle of the night. When the system *does* properly record, there are too many instances of the recording starting too late or quitting too early, which results in images of humans at our door getting chopped off.Inexplicably, the unit contains a battery that cannot be swapped out. This means that you have to take the doorbell offline for hours at a time so that the battery inside it can be recharged. I’ll admit, I didn’t read the fine print when I purchased so my bad, but c’mon, who would have thought that someone would have designed a security system that had to be taken offline by *design*?As bad as all the above is, the absolute showstopper is the horrific problem with wi-fi – a problem so consistent and acute that it renders this product useless. The doorbell and the cameras are constantly going offline, and the only way that they can be brought back online is for the user to be onsite and physically reconnect the devices. Talk about unclear on the concept! The whole idea of home security is that you want it working when you’re AWAY, Amazon, not just when you’re at home. The slightest network glitch causes the system to completely blow up: a slight power interruption, the router temporarily losing network, etc. However, every single device in my household is smart enough to come back online once the connection has been restored, except…the Ring system. Sometimes, eventually, the doorbell “figures something out” and comes back online, but the cameras? Never. They would be better off as paperweights. Some of this is not Amazon’s fault – it’s the nature of a motion detection system. The problem is that with the system metaphorically yelling “Fire!” all the time, you become naturally insensitive to its warnings, or if you simply turn it off so you aren’t disturbed, then this defeats the whole purpose, right?UPDATE 8-13-2023: AFter speaking with a courteous and knowledgable customer service representative named Melissa, I was satisfied with the information she provided in re to the operation of the doorbell. For the most part, she affirmed my observations about the proximity sensitivity issues I documented here as well as the necessity to deactivate and uninstall the device in order to charge it. Her suggestion was to hardwire the doorbell, but I explained that due to the trim around our door as well as other issues, hardwiring would be cost prohibitive. I stated that I am very pleased with the performance of the battery itself – it only needs charging 3-4 times per year, but that the real issue was that the battery requires 6-8 hours to charge no matter what type of charger that is used. I also stated that I was aware that fast-charging shortens the life of lithium batteries, but that this decision should be left up to customers, not the designers. For my part, I would rather be able to fast-charge the battery and get my doorbell operating again even if this means purchasing a replacement a little sooner than I might have had to.I’ve added two additional stars to this review: one for the unusually strong battery performance and one for Melissa’s patient assistance.

Best security guard
This camera is a lifesaver, and it also helps me feel secure living in an apartment. It has stopped package death from my door and it has also allowed me to be able to see who has been coming by my apartment and to be able to talk to them if I’m not at home. I love this camera I recommend this to anybody who’s living in an apartment or in a house. This also is a great deter from people who like to break in or steal things from in front of your door, which is why I got this camera in the first place. so now that I’m away from home I still can see home and know that it’s safe. Ring security is the best security guard for your home or your business that you can ever have. If you ever catch this on sale buy it but even if it’s not on sale, I’d still buy it. It’s truly a lifesaver.

Safety without needing a hardwire
I haven’t had a doorbell before because my house wasn’t wired for one. The battery operated ones were a pain because the inside chime took D batteries and you never knew when the batteries died. I finally decided to try this wireless ring and love it. The app will tell me when the battery needs charged – it has a good battery but the 2 weeks of subzero were hard on it. I also bought the chime for inside the house and now I know when someone is outside. I do disable the motion detection when we are working outside because every time we walk by the door it chimes. The picture clarity is good and knowing when a package is delivered is great. I plan to buy one for a relative that lives alone for the safety feature.

Tip on screw removal to charge Battery model and other positives
We like our doorbell even more than we thought we would. The crews that must be removed are really small and use a supplied special star screwdriver to remove them (2 screws). I found that if I place a medium shallow box under the doorbell during removal, and assembly they are easily retrieved. I am not a klutz, but most of the time I drop them. Ring kindly provides one extra screw just in case one is lost. I like the doorbell so much I bought two more. I also like that the picture views in a small popup on my fire TV, and is shown full size on my eco show 8s and and and any echo player I choose. Good job Ring!

Ring Door Bell System
I ordered this because I liked the ideal of having a unit that I can use on my cell phone. Once it arrived I found that you would need to remove the unit to charge it. I didn’t like that ideal. So I checked and found that I could purchase a electrical cord and run it from the outlet to the Ring unit. Perfect. We brought a charm unit which is great it has a loud sound. Now there is a draw back I didn’t know if you wanted to have a recorded copy you would need to subscribe to Ring.com and pay a monthly fee. All in all the unit is great. Clear picture even at night. Works great with our Wireless system and shows visitors on our tv as well. Yes, I would offer this to my family and friends.

Great product, disappointed in customer service helpfulness.
The product itself is wonderful. It was a Christmas gift for my mother, she’s been wanting one for years! The issue I ran into, was the special star-like screws that were missing. I called the manufacturer and they said that I’d have to reach out to Amazon, because that’s who I bought it from. I called Amazon and they said they could only give me a refund. They could not give me a replacement, since it was no longer being produced. I found this very confusing, since it is an Amazon product and Ring is very popular. I did get it in a very good deal with the Echo Show and I think this may be why, I think they were still producing the individual products.I went to Home Depot, of course the specific screws were not ones you will find in any store. I ended up just paying the under 10 bucks on the actual Ring website to buy the little replacement kit that has all of the extras(screws/etc) that come in the original box.I was disappointed that both customer service lines ended up not helping me solve the problem at all. Thankfully I was able to solve it on my own, even though I had to pay for the replacement that should have been in the box in the first place. The Ring product itself is great.

Enhance Security with Ring Doorbell
The Ring Video Doorbell is a top-notch choice for keeping your home safe. Compared to other options I’ve tried, it really stands out.One of the best things about it is the clear video quality and how well it detects motion. You won’t miss a thing with this doorbell! The app is super easy to use and doesn’t take forever to load. Plus, my favorite part is that it can ask visitors to leave a message when they ring the doorbell. It’s like a modern-day answering machine! If you want to step up your home security game without any hassle, the Ring Video Doorbell is the way to go.

GET THIS CAMERA
I decided to purchase this camera due to having problems with a downstairs neighbor. This camera catches EVERYTHING surrounding the area and I was very impressed. Not only with the view but the battery life.As well as notifying you whenever a person comes in camera view. I’ve literally had it for almost 2-3 weeks and the battery is JUST now getting to 82%. The only thing I dislike(d) about the camera is connectivity issues. It disconnected for over 15-20 minutes of leaving the house when I was expecting a package. I have the best WiFi so I’m confused as to why that happened. Not to mention the first night I had it , it would allow me to view live footage only once or twice an hour the ENTIRE night. Besides that it’s a great camera and they need to work on it.

Love love love!!
I absolutely LOVE my ring camera! It was SUPER easy to hang it up and to hook up to our phones! The camera is sensitive so it definitely catches anything that goes in front of it, sometimes it would go off when it was snowing. It has 1 month free trial of recording a short time anytime it would go off. But then after that, if something would set it off you would have to click into the live video. But it’s not very expensive to keep it going every month, $2-$3 or so! But we do only have 1 ring camera, so it may be more if you add more to your home!

Great
I’ve had ot for a little while now, and I love it. Yes, there is a protection plan, however, it’s is not NEEDED. If you DO want to keep the recordings, then yes, it will be needed. At this moment, my husband and I paid $40 for the year long plan, and the price is going up on the next bill which I’m not happy about. However, this camera works great, I can see really well through it at night, and It has helped me to know when I get packages, visitors, or packages are not delivered. I feel safe with it.

Great basic functions, flawed packaging/charging
Everything “good” that everyone knows about Ring is here. Mine is the Ring Video Doorbell Wired, 2nd generation, 2020 release. I’m happy that it is compatible with my existing mechanical chime (“ding-dong”). The video (and audio!) works well, nighttime is good, and it looks great.I have some major complaints. I thought incorrectly that since it’s a “wired” unit, I don’t have to worry about batteries. Wrong. It has an internal battery that runs the unit, and it’s supposed to “trickle charge” from the doorbell wiring. But the unit uses more power than the trickle charging can keep up with, so it’s a constant slow-drain on the internal battery. Once it gets low enough, the unit will need to be removed and manually recharged. Seems like that will be required about once every two months. The internal battery is NOT removeable. The doorbell wiring terminals have no quick-disconnect. Therefore, to charge the battery, which apparently needs done regularly (despite transformer power available), you have to remove the two security screws from the bottom of the unit with the special screwdriver (included), pull the doorbell out, and de-wire the unit which requires removing the screws and the wires under the screws (and probably turn of the power circuit first!). Bring the unit in the house for a half-day, with exposed wires hanging outside waiting for re-installation. This is an UTTERLY ridiculous design.Another serious complaint is the camera angle and zero adjustability. They claim 90° vertical viewing angle, but the problem is that the camera is on a parallel plane to the face of the unit. Most if not all people will mount this on a plumb vertical surface. That means that literally half of the view is the sky. The roofline of the houses across the street are about centered (vertically) in the view, which means the entire upper half of the field of vision is a total waste (the sky… unless you want to bird-watch). I can see people walking up to the porch, but I can NOT see a package left on the porch (but I do know if it’s cloudy!). If you can’t design the camera to be physically adjustable, why not angle the camera lens down more internally in the design. Then I could see from my porch to the roofs across the street, instead of from the street to the sky.I guess the more expensive units may include wedges to help this, but for this “entry level” unit, you have to spend another 20 bucks for the wedge kit if you want it. But even then, it gives you a maximum tilt of 15° down, and it looks really shabby in the photos I’ve seen (pushing the ENTIRE unit out, with stacked wedges…). Such a SIMPLE product tweak (angle the camera down more internally) would have been a massive improvement here. Better yet, put the camera lens on an adjustable mechanism.Despite all that, I like having the unit, and I plan to keep it for now and see how it goes. Now I just have to complete the dreaded commitment to their monthly recording service before my free trial ends.

Great doorbell and camera
Replaced an older, generic version of the Ring doorbell that was at the new house when we bought it. This works very well and is a good level (adjustable) of sensitivity. Would be nice if the camera had a bit wider of an angle but this works well nevertheless. The battery option was good since we don’t believe the wires are live, they weren’t hooked up to the previous generic version. Will sort out the wires once we are settled in, nice not to have to be in a rush. The screws which hold the unit to the mounting bracket were missing when it arrived, Ring customer service was awesome in getting a set of screws to me, I called on Saturday and they arrived Monday!

Setup
I recently had the pleasure of using the Ring Video Call feature, and I must say, it has truly transformed the way I communicate and connect with others. From its seamless setup to its crystal-clear audio and video quality, there are several key aspects of this feature that have impressed me and made it an indispensable tool in my daily routine. The setup process for Ring Video Call is refreshingly straightforward. Whether using the mobile app or desktop interface, getting started is as simple as a few clicks or taps. This thing is amazing! It’s a must have in every house!
This thing is amazing! It’s a must have in every house! We can track our deliveries, monitor the house now and then, check if it’s raining when we are nor home. If someone rings the bell and we are not home we can talk to them. Video is clear. We can see things at night, night vision is awesome. The only thing is that sometimes it starts recording when the person is already leaving as opposed to when they’re approaching, however that doesn’t happen all the time.

Great Product!!!
I bought this item mostly because of issues in my area and I was hesitant about getting the one that needed charged but I am so happy I got it!! I’ve had this for a very long time now and I have only had to charge it twice!! The battery is pretty amazing. It works very very well! I did sign up for the options to record videos and have access to them but that still is only $5 a month.. definitely worth it!! There are so many settings for this and it’s very easy to set up. I’m am very pleased with this purchase and I would most definitely recommend!

Best invention EVER!
It’s great to be able to thank my amazon delivery elves because they move too fast for my naked eye to see but my camera catches their backsides as i yell thank you thru my doorbell! And how great is it to tell the salesman he can deliver his sales pitch to me while I sit comfortably and listen… they aren’t fans of my Ring doorbell. I even caught sight of my favorite neighbor bringing up my trash can, so I could shoot a thank you text. I also turn it on to check up on my old porch cat as he lays in the sun. It’s not just a doorbell, it’s been very entertaining so far!

Way better
I still have the original first doorbell but you can barely see out of the lens anymore. This one has way better visuals then the first generation and it seems to see better at night but further on the sides as well. My door bells take a beating with the weather in the south and it’s hanging in there. The bracket is way better then the first generation. You sit it on the ledge and swing it down vs pressing it against the backing and sliding down hoping it stays. I feel like it’s less stressful adding the doorbell to the bracket. The only thing I’m not a fan of is switching the design of the tiny screw on the bottom. I couldn’t find my tool to unscrew it and I could have used the old school on but the pattern of different. So don’t loose your tool or you have to order another and wait. Other than that. I love ring and will continue to support. Also love the new features of having a reply theme that talks for you.

Quality
Honestly it’s not bad. Sometimes at the start of the recording it’s fuzzy/blurry but it depends on the speed of your WiFi. Overall I love it and it tells me every alert needed. I feel way safer. I also bought a “anti theft bracket” I just put it in and hang on my door. Prefect for people who live in apartments and want the ring to go with you plus no drilling holes 🙂

Great Picture
This was easy to install and get on line, with the instructions provided by Ring.I did not charge the battery to 100% before I installed it but that wasn’t a problem because it is wired to my doorbell. I had two wires from my old doorbell and I wired them to my new Ring doorbell. After I wired the Ring, I tried the doorbell and it didn’t work, so I switched the wires and the doorbell worked. I had to drill a couple of holes in the base plate so it would properly screw into my house siding. It only took me about 15 or 20 minutes to install my Ring doorbell and to have the Ring app working.

You have to pay to record events.
I like that if I check quickly and someone is there I can talk to them. I actually have two ring doorbells. I paid for the videos for my house but not for my apartment. I need the one for my apartment because my neighbor’s door is very close to mine and when someone knocks on their door it sounds like it is my door. I either have to run to the door and open it to check or now just check my Ring. It works much better.

So far it lives up to expectations – We are impressed
We delayed buying a video doorbell until now. Got this Ring on sale for $55 and also purchased the additional ringer as we do not carry our phones on us 24/7.I used the hard wired option as there was an existing doorbell installed. You have an option of continuing to use your existing doorbell ringer if you wish, we did not know that. But, once installed our circa 1977 doorbell rings along with the extra wi-fi ringer and both our phones. The sensitivity of motion is very good with no false detection from passing cars (the street is about 55 ft from our front door). The extension ringer/chime can be programmed to alert motion or not. Kind of fun playing with the whole system. I like that it pairs with my FireTV and I can look at front door/lawn just by asking Alexa, picture in picture is also an option. When someone rings the bell we get a video of the front door and can interact through the FireTV! Now that is cool! As you can tell we have not embraced all the tech and personal assistant devices so we are like kids in a candy store.Night vision is very good, primary black and white but it does show some color. Had no night time critters (or visitors) set off the motion the 1st night so cannot rate the sensitivity.Purchased the $3.99/mo, 39.99/yr service plan and have video saved for 180 days and other perks. I like how you can review the recording time if you desire, it records 24/7 from what I can tell.Overall very pleased, may expand system to motion lighting and alarms in the future, happy as a clam so far. Would certainly recommend the Ring Doorbell for anyone.

Completing our Ring Defense system
After adding two Ring Security Camera Flood lights around the pool, we added the Ring Door Bell to complete the system. Also bought the Solar Charging panel to keep it powered. We know when packages are delivered, when the dog comes back from his business and have the ability to keep an eye on the street and driveway. Well worth it!

BEST home security (and I’ve had many)
I enjoy that I can turn down the sensitivity level during the day while home and set a higher level while away or asleep. I sleep better. If there is a motion at my front or back door I’ll be alerted. Worth the money.

Ring doorbell camera
Okay so I got the ring because I’ve always wanted a ring camera but they don’t tell you when you purchase your ring doorbell that eventually you will need to pay to see who arrives to your front door but it is very recommended because it keeps your loved ones and you safe and also you get to know what’s going on around you for better protection so enjoy much recommended

Peace of mind…
Can be installed without having to call a professional… I have a rental house that is sometimes occupied. I can use the ring camera to see who is coming up to the house and other activities. The videos are clear. In order to have the videos saved for viewing later, you must have a subscription with Ring. Overall, it’s a great value for the product!

Ring Ring Ring Banana Phone
Ring is a great product to have both in terms of safety and user friendliness. I enjoy having a ring on my home door to ensure that I am protected, especially at night. Admittedly I do worry about using it as I am a renter so my ability to attach it to the exterior door is rather limited. One thing that is mildly frustrating is having to rely on charging it and keeping it connected to wifi. Something that should be fairly obvious but I did not think about that when I purchased it. Still barring all apocalypses or internet outages its a fine product. It is also nice to be a part of the local neighborhood community blog feature. It is funny to watch Karen types react to things like fireworks as gunshots or low flying planes as ufos. Also it is sad to see how many missing pets there are just in my small neighborhood. Otherwise though, great product!

Good Product
I’ve installed one of these twice now with a wired connection as a replacement for the doorbell. Very easy to install but some homes may need an extra mount piece to set it up securely. Been happy with its performance so far too.

Not bad
We have been a Ring customer for years now and we have been pretty pleased with their products. This doorbell is a good thing to have now of days. However, these camera rely on WIFI so if your have spotty WIFI these will NOT be as reliable. I personally wish Ring would make cameras that worked off celular it would be a better option for some. I also wish they would rethink their batteries, they take too long to charge and they don’t last that long when compared to say Arlos essential camera batteries. They could totally upgrade their current batteries now if they really wanted to.

Highly Recommended
I live in a high rise apartment building here in NYC. Generally my building is somewhat on the safe side, However, there’s been many changes here over the years and most not good. For a while I saw my next door neighbors door equipped the this device not knowing exactly what it was. I mean I knew it was a door bell, but that was about it. Recently just by chance we met in the hallway and asked him about it. Thinking it only rang the bell and took a picture of who was at the door. I asked him what it was? He replied “Ring” Hmmmm He went on to tell me the great features it had. And, He was right. Before not knowing anything about it, I had gotten an Amazon Echo Dot on Prime Day and that’s been something I really needed because I live alone and am functionally disabled, meaning I can still walk but on heavy pain meds. God forbid I should fall and be away from my cell I could yell for Alexa to get help.Anyway, after getting the “Ring” I was amazed I could see live video of people walking past my door. In addition it records the days events as people walk by. The coolest thing is I can see it and be notified on my Echo Dot if someone is milling around out my door. The other great feature is being able to contact the Police or Fire Dept. if needed, all through my cell or Alexa with my new Ring.So far I am very impressed with my “Ring”. I also bought the door attachment so there was no drilling involved. If you’re on the fence with this? Buy it. You’ll thank me later. Cheers !!!

There is a subscription necessary.
I am enjoying my ring camera. I bought the one that runs on batteries and I was afraid I would be charging it constantly. So far, the initial charge has held. (about 2 months-great) The only down side is that I never realized I would be expected to buy a monthly subscription. Once the initial free period is over, only live viewing is possible. It does not record whenever someone approaches. Maybe I should have expected this, but it caught me by surprise. Luckily the subscription isn’t super costly. The #3.99/ month seemed worth it, but I just wish I had realized this before I bought it and even worse recommended it to a friend!

Miss screws twice.
I would give it 5 stars but I ordered 2 of these and thought I lost the first set of screws so I ordered extra ones to replace them. When I got the second one, it was also missing the same screws. Once, is a mistake twice is a pattern. Otherwise, this is a great product when it works.

A great device, but setup is a bit of a problem
I really love my Ring doorbell. My one and only complaint is that the assembly instructions leave a little bit to be desired. A lot of things like this give you directions on hole placement (measurements between) as well as how deep to drill holes in the concrete. Not to mention that I missed that the screws I need to fasten my device to the mount was hidden in the box; I thought I had understood and thought I was done, until I broke down the cardboard and had the screws fall out of a weird fold (and then it was a little bit until I realized that these screws were needed on the bottom of my device; I had put the funny screw driver in the bottom and thought I had things fastened well).

Ring Door Camera
The functionality and interoperability that comes with the Ring App in terms of security is priceless. However, unless you are tech savy you will need assistance on the installation and Ring Customer Service does an outstanding job in this area.

This device picks up motion with clarity
I do not like receiving all the dog and cat messages of other owners of ring.I find the method of recharging this ring device awkward. I have to remove it from it’s location and use a charging cable which is plugged into a socket. I would much prefer a removable battery which could be recharged and have a spare battery. The device works well even at night.

Be sure to wire it!
To avoid endless charges, be sure to connect it with the wire connection. Works great! Ring doesn’t allow you to see previous recordings unless you pay a monthly subscription fee. You can only view live. It’s about a 10 second delay.

The customization is impressive.
I really like the way the ring cameras and lights pair with each other. Plus all the options available make these cameras an easy buy for home security. The best thing for us is the option to see and hear who’s there. Having a special needs child who likes to know who’s there makes us feel more comfortable and safe.

Doesn’t come with drill bit/needs subscription
This is my third camera I’ve bought so needless to say I like it. The camera quality is good battery lasts a long time and the mic and speaker are great. There’s a couple things I’m not a fan of though. The main being how you have to buy the subscription in order to few previous activation’s, along with set up activity zones. Very inconvenient since my fish is always setting the motion off. Also when installing into a hard surface they instruct you to use the included drill bit which there is none. Not a huge deal since I have a lot of masonry bits but definitely to keep in mind.

LOVE love love
We already had a RING from the actual site on our front door. I wanted one for the back door when our oldest kids went outside, just to check on them, but also the security of the back door having a camera. We did buy refurbished, and I will say Im glad i saved some money doing so. Nothing was wrong, there was just a small scratch on the front bottom. It was perfect. I will add something I didnt realize, that you do have to add ANOTHER ring plan on to record. I did not know that, so we just use it for motion, seeing as once again just to check up on the kids. We live in an area where its not an easy access to our back yard, and if so we would see it on our front. So just keep in mind if you want more than one, you have to pay for more than one plan to record all activity.

Peace of Mind at Your Doorstep
I can’t say enough about the Ring Doorbell Camera—it’s truly a game-changer for home security! From the moment I installed it, I’ve experienced peace of mind knowing that I can keep an eye on my front door from anywhere, anytime. But what truly sets the Ring Doorbell Camera apart is its functionality. The HD video quality is crystal clear, allowing me to see every detail of what’s happening outside my door, whether it’s a package delivery, a visitor, or just neighborhood activity. And with two-way audio, I can communicate with whoever is at the door, whether I’m at home or halfway around the world.Whether you’re a homeowner looking to enhance your security or simply want the convenience of being able to see who’s at your door, the Ring Doorbell Camera is a must-have. Trust me, once you experience the peace of mind it provides, you’ll wonder how you ever lived without it!

10/10 recommend
I love being able to see who is at my door/ when packages arrive. I check my camera daily, and it makes my home feel a little safer. This makes a great gift and often goes on sale for around $55. I’ve only used the talking mode once or twice, but when I need it, it’s nice that I can talk to whoever is at the front door.

As my first time owning a home video camera, I love it!
I was pretty impressed with the angle and size of the view. It captures a very good overall angle. Never had any issues troubleshooting the app or connecting it to the internet also very easy to install, you can answer from your own phone device when someone rings and watch live footage if someone is at your door. I just love it nothing bad to say at all. I would recommend it to everyone.!

BACKUP BATTERY – CANT REPLACE IT
I bought a Back up Battery so I could charge one while using the other and now I find out that you can’t replace it on this model??? Why are they selling them for 2nd Generation ring camera’s?? What a waste of my money. Now I can’t return the extra battery or even use it unless I buy another ring camera that has a removable battery. This is so WRONG.

Setup was a little difficult on manual doorbell
It is a rock-solid platform. The issue is setting it up to ring our doorbell on the inside. They do not include the instructions to do that. There is a setup that need to be done to ring the manual doorbell on the interior of our home. Ours was a little harder to install because we have brick, so I had to drill into brick. We also wired it to where the old doorbell was. That was not a big deal but it’s a little low, so it cuts people’s heads off. The wedge was not included to adjust for that, nor was the level, but that’s ok I have a level.I recommend but, when you hook it up it took a while to find the setting for the manual doorbell. You may need to call to set that up. Not sure I could find that setting again. It is in settings. It took me a while because I spent time looking for our doorbell transformer. It was not a problem with our transformer but their settings.

Love it
Battery last a long time, easy to put up and set up on your phone , have to buy a plan with ring in order to record , keep video feed, and to be able to get it replaced of you have any issues… you can get updates around where you live , get alot of lost pets but over all its handy .. I’m definitely getting more products from ring.

Price drop- ridiculous return policy
Ten days after receiving the Ring Doorbell it went on sale for $40 cheaper. A price adjustment refund would be nice, but Amazon requires return of the item and receiving a full refund then reorder of the same item in order to get the price adjustment. I’ll just end up returning the new unopened box, but hey- free shipping and returns! That being said, the doorbell works perfectly. Clean, sharp images. Working great with the solar charger.

Excellent for easy monitoring
Got this for my Dad for Christmas and he loves it. He said the install was super easy and he didnt struggle at all with setting up and getting the app to work.Hes been loving being able to answer the door away from home and to see all the little animals we get on our porch in the countryside. The motion detection is pretty good and hes only getting false notifications on especially windy days.I definitely recommend installing it to a door or area near your router for the best connection and image! The night vision is really neat and strong high quality images. Its a really cool device he will definitely use as long as he can. I love the added feeling of protection it gives.

Excellent Doorbell!
I didn’t want to spend a ton of money on a doorbell and didn’t want to have to wire anything. This one was incredibly easy to set up and install and it does a great job detecting people at the door and notifying me on my phone.
