No nonsense video streaming playback device
It is just what I needed. No need to have a phone tethered or anything. I had one non 4k version and I still loving it, and buy this one for my father, who is enjoying it for its simplicity and functionality. It is very recommended if you want to stream from platforms without hassle.

Good Upgrade
We had a ROKU stick that was over-heating some, and had lots of buffering during livestream sports, etc. This solved all the problems. It’s small (barely noticeable), but sits below the TV, and the remote connection is perfect via direct line of sight.

Bad delivery good item.
I like my item. I requested it to be delivered to my back porch. It was delivered to my mailbox across the street. I’m disabled. Traffic is fast I can’t cross street that fast. Deliverer didn’t deliver as requested. I had to wait for my neighbor to come home to get it for me. I’m highly upset with delivery person. Could have at least put it on the front porch.

My mom figured it out quick
When my mom decided to move away from cable to streaming (satellite isn’t an option where she lives) she wasn’t sure what to go with. I have an Amazon fire stick and she has trouble figuring it out when she comes to visit. When I got the Roku set up for her, she picked up how to use it in a day. She called me the next afternoon thanking me and how easy it was. I think the fact the buttons on the remote stand out more helps. If you’re looking for something simple without a lot of bells and whistles, this is what you want. If I wasn’t so entrenched in the Amazon ecosphere I’d move to the Roku.

Very good Roku 4K streamer
Replaced my six years old Roku Premiere with the Express 4K+ and noted the difference in speed when opening apps. Programmed Roku remote to control my dumb TV on/off and speaker volume. Had to do a Reset after updating Netflix app and couldn’t go back to homepage because it stuck in a loop that can only open Netflix app hence the 4 Star.

Easy Set Up
Dumped cable with their ridiculous fees – kept the WiFi and opted for You Tube TV. Well my Samsung TV is a bit older and can’t add You Tube TV to the app hub.Did some research and opted for this out of all the Roku reviews and works great!Easy set-up, controls the on/off of the TV thus eliminating a pile of remotes. Created a Roku account free – good to go.Little irritated I had to buy another device when the plan was to save money, however heck of a lot cheaper than buying a new TV!

Not as good as the stick
Have both the stick and this device. This device tends to be much more finicky then the other. Have to unplug it about every two weeks. Needed this model because an older tv with a back that made it hard to support the stick. Get stick if it works other this works fine but not first choice for Roku

This is a good add-on for any TV
We have added the Roku to our TV to help with inconsistent off-air performance. While there are many “Live TV” channels, they do not overlap with our local channels very well. With a claimed 600 channels available, you would think that the greater Boston area would be well covered. Also the channel layout is not intuitive. Other than that, this seems to be a good add-on for your TV.

I got this little thing because my smart TV can’t handle new apps, and the husband wanted peacock for the sports. Definitely less expensive than a new TV. It set up quick and easy

Roku Express 4K+ | Roku Streaming Device 4K/HDR, Roku Voice Remote, Free & Live TV
I bought this for my Ex Mother in Law. She needed a way to watch TV in her den area. It was easy to connect, and VERY EASY for her to use. She is 84, and it was simple for her to learn how to use it. ROKU does have great shows and we added YouTube, and Plex so just a perfect set up for her. Very happy with the purchase!!!

Great for cord cutters!
Purchase this when I decided to “cut the cord”. Was paying way too much to watch 25% of the many channels on cable. Channels we didn’t need or care to watch. Cable companies should have gone to a la carte programming years ago, it would have kept costs down for them and customers. The Roku is great, add what ever streaming service you want and watch what you want. So many free streaming services to watch – most content is older stuff, but you can add Pay services and watch up to date content. The remote does burn through batteries… since your constantly pressing buttons to find stuff and I believe it is infrared and bluetooth communications.

Needed this
Hello Amazon Community, I got timhis because the smart tv I was given from my brother that he didn’t use anymore was crap! I couldn’t use any service without it messing up. But I have owned Roku in the past and it’s always been awesome. I ordered it this morning, and got it this morning so points for shipping, and it for whatever reason was in another language but I went with it and figured it out in 10 minutes. The actual setup is so easy and took a minute or less to hook up. I’ve been watching YouTube with no interruptions and the visuals are great and it’s not even on 4k in the settings. I will change it to tht soon anyway. This is way better than the Apple TV device.Hope this helps ,Thank youKiana

Opened up a new world of TV
I have DIRECTV, but there’s so much junk on it, there’s almost nothing I want to watch. The Roku device was very easy to install, and between the Roku channels, and the paid ones I’m using, I have a whole New World of TV. Live shows, documentaries, nature programs, International TV through MHZ, Paramount, for example. For me, this is so much better. The only thing I’m missing is the NBA, but that’s because I simply can’t afford to subscribe. Otherwise frankly, I am extremely happy that I sprung for the Roku. More expensive models could be needed if you have a huge TV, which requires more bandwidth, or were trying to fuel a house full of TVs (same) but this Roku model is just great for one normal TV. Now, Roku runs on a hardwired, or wireless signal, so if I had to depend on wireless signal strength from a tower, I would probably need a much stronger signal receiver. But for now this is just great. Have been using it for about four months, all is good.

Go For It
We finally made the decision to go cable free. We has an earlier version of this unit which was a bit glitchy. So, we purchased this inexpensive newer upgraded unit. Easy to install; great connection to the T.V.; glad we made the move. I just purchased two more units for two other televisions. Those televisions are a bit farther away from the internet modem, so hopefully there will be no wifi connection difficulties. But, for now, so far, so good. Go for it.

Controls Vizio TV power and volume buttons
I have owned just about every Roku device out there and have liked them all. However, none of the ones I’ve been using lately is able to pair with my Vizio TV to control on/off and volume up/down and mute. They identify the Vizio but won’t pair up with it. I know that a lot of people have this problem. I tried all kinds of different codes. This afternoon I dug out this Express 4K I bought a few years ago and thought I’d give it a try. Lo and behold, it paired up with the first Vizio code. I’m using a more recent Remote Pro with it. So the difference is in the box, not in the remote. Some say that older Roku units had better control capabilities than newer (or software updated) ones do, and it seems that this is true. So if your Roku is doing everything you want it to do, it may be wise to decline updates.

Fast and easy
I’ve had probably 12 different Fire Sticks, plus a few TVs with Fire embedded. All of those were terribly slow, but so cheap I didn’t bother looking for anything different. But after years, I finally decided that enough was enough and tried the Roku. This was like driving a Ferrari after using a scooter. The setup was easy, adding apps was a snap, and everything just works faster. The only part I didn’t enjoy was trying to remove channels from the 1000+ that comes with the device for free.

I’ll ALWAYS LOVE Roku!
It was my first streaming choice and from then on I’ve recommended this brand to two more individuals I know. My fiance was a fire stick fan but after countless crashes and not being able to view certain shows I convinced him to buy a Roku. Now I just have to branch into getting their smart TVs. But if I could I’d give this product 100 stars. It’s just a really good brand and lasts for years without constant glitch. But no shade towards fire stick lovers.

Love these!
We currently have 3 Roku TVs in our house and we love how Roku doesn’t restrict certain apps (like VUDU and others). We really like how far Roku has come compared to when the brand first started out. So we decided to try these. We bought two of these for when we go out of town for vacations. We usually take a fire stick but we don’t like how we can’t use specific apps on fire stick and it bothered us enough to buy these. And we were not disappointed. The setup for these was really simple because we logged into our current Roku account and it loaded up all the apps we use. Then logging in was super easy, because Roku was able to save some login info for those apps.We also love how these remotes are Bluetooth! This is something that is a huge bonus for us because our Roku TV remotes are not Bluetooth. I know it sounds silly, but just being able to pick up the remote and hit the buttons without having it pointed directly at the TV is just nice.

Great roku!
I am a fan of roku devices. My current roku is from like 2014 and it’s still going strong, but I ordered this one for my boyfriend and it is SUCH AN UPGRADE from mine! I am thinking about ordering a second one to replace my old one. It’s also nice that there’s a power button finally (my old one doesnt have a power button and stays on constantly).

Easy connect, easy use
This was set up for my 73 yo wife so she could watch her Netflix in the spare bedroom, which doesn’t have a cable connection.Wireless was easy to set up.I highly recommend using the online instructions for setup. Following the paper one that comes with this, we found not as easy. She loves it and so do I. After thirty years of marriage I can finally watch Football in the family room and don’t have to restrain my whooping and hollering! This is really the way to go. I may even get rid of cable !

Decent value
The live rewind function is pretty good with the direct tv app. The volume up down buttons are not great – not sensitive enough. Boot up is slow and you are forced to start all viewing with the Roku home page — you can’t program to boot up to the last channel watched.

Roku Review
I love this Roku device. This is on all of our TV’s. The voice function is great and the control of the device is divine! The only downfall is the tape strip that you get with it. It is not strong enough. Even prepping the service area it does not hold well for a long period of time. I had to use other means to get it to stay where it is now.

A Cord Cutter’s Dream, with Room for Improvement
The Roku Express 4K+ has been a significant game-changer for my entertainment setup. I made the bold decision to cut the cable cord, and this device has been instrumental in providing access to a plethora of streaming content, including live TV shows. While it has many strengths, there are a couple of areas where it could see improvement, hence my 4-star rating.Let’s start with the positives. The Roku Express 4K+ delivers on its promise of bringing a world of entertainment to your fingertips. The ability to access streaming services and even live TV channels is incredibly convenient. It has truly revolutionized the way I consume content, providing a wide array of options to suit my preferences. The 4K streaming quality is fantastic, and I appreciate the HDR support for vibrant visuals. It’s a noticeable upgrade from standard HD, and it makes movie nights at home a real treat. However, there are a couple of drawbacks I’ve encountered. The volume button on the remote is starting to show signs of wear, which is a concern for long-term usability. I rely on the remote daily, and I hope it continues to function reliably.Another area where I see potential for improvement is the channel selection. While Roku offers an extensive library of channels and apps, I sometimes find myself wishing for more variety. Expanding the channel lineup, especially in terms of international and niche content, would make the Roku experience even more appealing.

great cheap way to watch tv
we started using this in place of our Xfinity plan and its been working very well since then. its very user friendly and its a good quality stream. the only issue I have with it is there’s no way to remove apps more then one at a time. the device installs a bunch of apps I will never use by default and there’s no way to remove them all at once. besides that the device works perfectly. would definitely recommend

Still my most favorite streaming service.
Moved back to mainland from Hawaii this past year and had to get rid of our Roku tvs. Getting to mainland I bought a google tv because Roku tvs were out of stock and I was impatient that day. This is the living room tv. It’s ok.We were given a Toshiba for our bedroom and we were using a laptop and hdmi cable to be able to use streaming planforms in the room for about a month before I caved and got this. Couldn’t decide about buying a stream bar or the express 4k.So far it’s been good and works the way it is supposed to! My fiancé likes the way the remote feels, very slick and nice. I love the sound buttons on the side and the way it can sync to your tv so you only have to use the Roku remote the majority of the time. This technology needed to have existed in the 90s when every house hold had 5 remotes for 1 tv.I’ve been using Roku since it came out back in 2015 or 2016 and I love how they’ve kept their programming simple but similar throughout the years keeping up with trends and advancements.5/5 for me.

Incredible deal!!!!
I have been using a very old Roku in my bedroom for years now. My TV is also quite old, so I have lost the remote control for it. I purchased this Roku for myself for a birthday present. Wow! The remote control for this Roku takes care of everything. I can turn the TV on and off, adjust the volume, settings, channel surf, etc. It was VERY easy to set up. I am beyond happy with this purchase. Makes my bedroom a wonderful place for me to hide out in!!! Oh and the Roku channel is pretty darn good, too!!!!

great product, great price
We needed to upgrade our Roku unit. We had been using an older version that was about 3 years old and on one of the apps, we would get into a program and it would break for commercials. At the end of the 1st or 2nd one it would freeze up and we would have to get out of the show. We could then go back into it but the system would only allow us to start from the very beginning meaning that we would have to fast forward to where it left off. This new one has voice search and volume controls on it which makes it much easier to use and eliminates the need of having to go from one remote to another just to adjust the volume. Great unit.

Mostly Love These Roku 4K Streaming Boxes
I bought three of these and mostly love them. My first LCD TV was a 1080P Sharp Aquos (which is still used in a bedroom), my first smart TV was a 4K TCL Roku (which is also still used in a bedroom), and my most recent purchases were 4K Android TVS (a Sony in the family room and a TCL in the living room). I very much prefer the Roku interface over the Android, so I bought these to use on the old Sharp Aquos and the Android TVs, and with them, watching any of them is exactly the same as my actual TCL Roku TV. But these boxes all have one major flaw (at least in the three I received do). Every time I use one, I have to manually reconnect it to my WiFi. They retain the complete WiFi information (network name and password), but they don’t automatically connect. I just keep pressing OK on the remote through the WiFi connection process. That’s why the 4-star overall and 3-star streaming quality ratings. The actual streaming quality is excellent, once reconnected to WiFi. But even with that issue, I would recommend these to convert an older dumb TV or an Android TV to Roku. There is one improvement I’d like to see. Make a model that has a built in antenna input and tuner so I don’t have to change the input on the TV to watch over-the-air TV.

Great device but ONE THING
Even though I have an LG Smart tv, it sometimes lags or freezes when I streamed Paramount, so I got this and it’s been wonderful. Sharp picture, very little (if any) “wheel spinning” on the screen, the remote with voice control works well, love the Roku channel. HOWEVER I DID ENCOUNTER ONE THING–after 2 months, my HBO Max shows would stop saving to the ‘Continue Watching’ on my account. I had to make a note of what season, what episode I was watching. I googled the problem, discovered I was not alone. (This only happened on my Roku, not on the other devices I streamed MAX on.) I did soft resets, hard resets, changed my MAX account password, the only thing that solved the issue was doing a Factory Reset of my Roku. It wasn’t bad to do, and I was back up & running and my shows were being saved again, all in 20 minutes. But I’m sure I’ll have to do a factory reset again at some point.

Get rid of Cable!!
I bought this because I canceled my expensive cable, and it is way better! You can add other subscriptions, or explore the options it gives you. There are several free channels. You will not be sorrybyou cut the cord!!

Excellent manager for all inputs and excellent remote
Manages all streaming services and over the air Tablo unit.Love the simple yet complete remote and can’t beat the price. Not sure the screen mirroring is quite as good as Apple TV box for iPhone streaming of complex images (light show at a concert) but otherwise I prefer this inexpensive unit over Apple TV box.

Upgrades Roku device
I just upgraded my Roku to this 4k version because my old one kept restarting all the time. So far it’s been great. There are added features such as automatic channel suggestions and the r interface is higher quality and faster speed.

Roku stream
I like Roku because the picture is vivid but I gotta tell you., I had a hard time pairing the remote and I still have to use my tv remote along with Roku remote to turn tv off/on and to control the volume. Maybe 🤔 it’s an older model tv. Then it took a day before Prime video loaded and even Roku channels were not loading. I had to call on that. I didn’t have these problems with Firestick but thought I would try something different. It’s working fine now but still have to use 2 remotes

Everything is great except for location of TV mute button.
I bought this to replace my Roku Express HD that had slowed down when navigating with the remote. My only complaint is the terrible location of the TV volume and mute buttons on the side of the remote. I’m always accidently pressing the mute button when holding the remote or even just by grabbing the remote. The side of the remote where everyone holds onto their remote is a dumb location for those buttons. If you buy this, don’t program this remote to work on your TV. I don’t believe there’s an easy way to deprogram it unless you hook it up and program it to a different brand TV and then re-hook it up to the TV you want to use it on.

Roku, a must have…
If you don’t have cable, this is a must. Every TV in our house has a Roku.I will say, they seem to wear out and you have to replace every couple years but for the value they can’t be beat!

Fantastic as always
We have been Roku fans for years! Recently got a new smart tv and got tired of the need to download apps have to hunt through the preloaded stuff that the manufacturer wants us to use. Frustrating and annoying. Attached this Roku in minutes, and now can enjoy the television. The picture is fantastic and having all our own preferences easy to use is such a relief. It’s the little things…The remote is easy and no more million little buttons on a huge remote just to watch tv.Loved being able to ditch that. Thank you ROKU!! And not having any cable bill is the icing on the cake

Great product!
I purchased 5 of these boxes so that I could stream everything everywhere- especially the NFL Sunday Ticket and NHRA All Access. I had been with DirecTV since the 1990s but the move to steaming necessitated a move. While my newer TVs had built in streaming, my older one’s either didn’t or they were far less refined. These set up easy and are way better than the Samsung built-in tuners. I couldn’t be happier!
